Update On This Manchester United Target, As Jose Mourinho Looks Desperate To Sign

If the former Tottenham forward decides to come back in the Premier League, it was only Manchester United who could afford the star player. Gareth Bale, the lightning forward of Real Madrid was earlier rumoured to leave Santiago Bernabeu before the next season kicks off. Bale had a brilliant season last time, despite missing most of the matches due to his injury. He scored 24 times and did assists 4 times. Most importantly, his scissor kick in the final of Champions league made the Spanish side to grab their third European trophy on a row. Now it has been reported that Manchester United is keen to bring in the 28-year-old attacker to Old Trafford this summer.

His future has been a talking point since his comments in the wake of the Champions League final, where he hinted he could leave Spain this time. However, the departure of Zinedine Zidane as Real Madrid boss can also change the decision of the Welsh forward.

According to the rumours, Bale could be set to sign for Manchester United as early as July, as the Portuguese manager looks to revamp his squad ahead of next season. The transfer of Bale to the Old Trafford got struck a bit due to the availability of Ronaldo in the summer window. Ronaldo may also leave Spain this time and it would a fairy tale conjugation if he chooses to go for the Red Devils. Mourinho wants the former Spurs’ star at Old Trafford, with the club’s Executive Vice Chairman Ed Woodward willing to fund a £150m deal.

It was Zidane who was the main obstacle for the forward to be in Spain. Otherwise, it is reported that he is happy in Madrid. Bale endured a difficult relationship with the French manager mainly because of his lack of game time, though the scenario has been changed.

Julen Lopetegui was unveiled by Real Madrid as their new boss on Thursday after his controversial sack as Spain coach 24 hours earlier on the eve of the World Cup.

It has been said that Bale still wants to be in Madrid and prove himself to Lopetegui. Gareth Bale is confident and he believes that he can still contribute in the biggest games. He scored key goals against Barcelona and Liverpool in the final weeks of last season, which shows his tenacity and determination.

Gareth Bale will surely voice his opinion to the new boss, but if Lopetegui decides he is surplus to requirements United will be at the front of the queue to sign him. His contract with the La Liga giants is until 2022 after he signed a six-year deal in October 2016.

Not only Manchester United, the money club Paris Saint Germain is also on the verge to have the forward, though their £166m permanent signing of Kylian Mbappe has ruled them out according to Financial Fair Play rules. So it is quite clear that the upcoming Summer window will have some seriously interesting events to look in and the deals should be finalized within few days.
