Is The Deal Happening? Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale Wanted By Manchester United, Puts Future Under Further Speculation

Los Blancos winger Gareth Bale has stated that he may or may not remain at Real Madrid for the upcoming season. The Welshman continues to be linked with a move to English giants Manchester United as the Red Devils are keen on bringing Bale back to the Premier League. However, there is still no proper confirmation as to whether he now wishses to stay in Madrid or move on with his career, like Ronaldo has already done.

Manchester United are in the hunt to sign a quality attacker in order to bolster their side for next season. Jose Mourinho’s side fell way short in the race for the Premier League title as Manchester City smashed plenty of records storming their way to the summit. But the ‘Special One’ is still eager to get one over his local rival Pep Guardiola this coming season. The Portuguese boss has identified Gareth Bale as one of his priority signings this summer in order to achieve success with Manchester United.

After scoring two stunning goals against Liverpool in the Champions League final, Bale put his future at the Santiago Bernabeu under massive scrutiny as he opened up on a possible departure from the Spanish capital. Bale did not manage to make too many appearances for the Los Blancos as competition for a starting berth kept on pushing him further down the pecking order.

The likes of Isco, Toni Kroos, Marco Asensio, Lucas Vazquez, Luka Modric and others kept Bale out of the first team squad as the Welshman struggled with injuries and form. Despi that, Bale still proved that he is worth keeping in big games and decided the fate of the Champions League for the La Liga giants in May, which was the last match of then boss Zinedine Zidane.

Bale is now set to hold important talks with his new Madrid boss Julen Lopetegui this week in order to decide terms and conditions regarding his future. Speaking to a Spanish Radio Station Cope this week, the fiery winger was still in a 50-50 mood about his future as he opened up when asked about his time at the Bernabeu, “Maybe I’ll stay at Madrid, maybe not. I have to talk to my agent. I need more minutes. It frustrated me not to be a starter in the Champions League final.”

However, the football world was sent into shock when Portuguese talisman Cristiano Ronaldo completed a move to Juventus for a fee of €105 million from Real Madrid. The 33-year-old was the all-time top goalscorer for Real Madrid but decided to continue his football in the Serie A at the home of the Italian champions in Turin.

This move from Ronaldo could have dented Manchester United’s hopes of signing Gareth Bale because it is now unlikely that Lopetegui will be willing to sell another one of his star forward players in the same summer transfer window. But it will be an opportunity for the 28-year-old Bale to finally step out of the shadow of Ronaldo and make a bigger name for himself at Madrid
