Mateo Kovacic To Chelsea: Bizarre Move Or A Managerial Master-class By Maurizio Sarri?

Chelsea FC have officially announced the departure of Thibaut Courtois in this summer transfer window and Mateo Kovacic will join the Blues on a season long loan. Thibaut Courtois will join Real Madrid with a six year contract in the deal. Courtois wished to stay with his family at Madrid; so he joined Real Madrid in this summer transfer window. Thibaut Courtois has refused to join the training session under the management of Maurizio Sarri. Maurizio Sarri did not wish to have a player who was not eager to play for the club.

Here we will discuss about the other part of the the deal. The inclusion of Kovacic in the squad of the Blues might prove to be a deciding moment in the career of the Croatian International footballer. Under the management of Maurizio Sarri, Mateo Kovacic will play a vital role for the Blues in the next season. The Croatian midfielder refused to train with his teammates as he wished to leave Real Madrid with any cost in this summer transfer window. Kovacic was not getting regular chances for Real Madrid.

Real Madrid have a great midfield trio of Toni Kroos, Casemiro, Luka Modric. The trio were always the first choice for Los Blancos in the previous season under the management of Zinedine Zidane. Mateo Kovacic has to stay at the bench of Real Madrid most of the times in the previous season. The midfielder was in the squad of Croatia in the World Cup. But he was also in the bench of Croatia. These sort of things have clearly demotivated Mateo Kovacic. So, the Croatian midfielder desperately wanted to move towards a side where he would get the chance to play in the starting lineup.

Mateo Kovacic will wish to flourish under the management of Maurizio Sarri in this season. The midfield comprising of N’Golo Kante, Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic will be lit under the management of the new manager of the Blues, Maurizio Sarri. Chelsea FC also have Ruben Loftus Cheek, Ross Barkley and Cesc Fabregas in their squad to fight for the place in the three men midfield of Chelsea.

Maurizio Sarri will prefer to play with a 4-3-3 formation in the next season for Chelsea. He will like implement his strategies in the Premier League too with Chelsea FC. The manager has also stated that it would take some time to implement his strategies in the new club. Maurizio Sarri will wish to give Chelsea FC a new dimension in the next season. In the last ten seasons Chelsea have played counter attacking football. It will not be very much easy for the new manager to change things overnight. The fans have to be patient to watch ‘Sarriball’ rolling in the Premier League. The inclusion of Kovacic will surely help Chelsea to perform well in the Premier League as well as in the Europa League too. It will be a real good move in the career of Mateo Kovacic as he will surely get a lot of gametime at Chelsea in the next season.
