Paul Pogba: From Moving To Barcelona, To Scoring Manchester United’s Opening Goal Of The Season

Pogba

The Transfer Saga-

France international Paul Pogba was heavily being linked to European giants FC Barcelona and his agent Mino Raiola has been spotted several times in Catalan having meetings with Barcelona’s sporting director Eric Abidal and few other board members. The Italian super agent wants his client to leave Old Trafford this summer and join La Liga champions Barcelona.

A few media outlets back in England have reported that Pogba is fed up of manager Jose Mourinho and his style of play which doesn’t suit the way the 25 year old plays and last season they had a few heated arguments and public confrontations due to which the Frenchmen was even dropped from the side and was subbed off a few times and now there is much news of Pogba wanting to leave Manchester for Barcelona.

Barcelona already have a overcrowded midfield consisting the likes of Sergio Busquets, Ivan Rakitic, Denis Suarez, Phillepe Coutinho, Sergi Roberto and new summer recruit’s Arturo Vidal and Arthur. But they are said to be still considering to bring in the World Cup champion as possible replacement of club legend Andres Iniesta who left the Camp Nou after a 15 year stay with the first team for Japanese side Visel Kobe.

Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo claimed that Barcelona had offered Manchester United almost €50m + Portuguese international Andre Gomes and center back Yerry Mina who was targeted by the Red Devils, But Man Utd stood firm and rejected to even listen to any offers for the central defensive midfielder at this time as today is the final day to carry out any transfer activities and it would be really very tough to manage to sign a like to like replacement for Paul Pogba in such short time and  considering the quality he brings to the side.

Jose Mourinho will be gutted as he has yet to sign a defender for which they have been in the market for a while now and after Yerry Mina agreeing to sing for Everton it seems they will find it difficult to go after any center back this summer and time is clearly running out, The Red Devils do not want to pay up to £60m for a 29 year old Toby alderweireld and Leicester City are demanding close to £75m for Harry Maguire because he put in a series of amazing performances for the three lions in the World Cup.

Manchester United are so desperate in a need of a quality center back that they tried to activate Atletico Madrid captain Diego Godin’s €18m release clause but the Uruguayn international reject the Red Devils and instead opted to renew his current contract with no release clause and now it is unlikely that they will go after any players and stick with the current squad and hope that Paul Pogba also stays as Barcelona still have a chance to sign him until 31st August and United can only hope that he does not put in a request to move abroad.

The Opening Goal Of The Season-

Guess who scored the opening goal of the season from the penalty spot against Leicester City? Paul Pogba, it is!! He isn’t going anywhere!!
