Guess Who? Former Chelsea Skipper John Terry Names His Premier League’s Top Four Finishers For The Season

The former Chelsea defender, John Terry expects the Blues to finish in the top three this season.

Terry who spoke to Daily Mail regarding his predictions this year. The defender believes that new manager Maurizio Sarri has that charisma and hunger that Chelsea requires at the moment to claw their way back to Europe’s elite after an underwhelming last season under Antonio Conte.

Although he holds Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City as his top three, he gave no indication on who he thinks will win the Premier League title this year. The 37-year old defender said that he feels that Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspurs are likely to fight for the fourth spot and here again he kept the position opening avoiding further controversy.

“My top three for this season will be decided between City, Liverpool and Chelsea,” he told the Daily Mail.

That leaves United and Spurs fighting for fourth.”

The former Blues defender led both club and country but had more success with Chelsea as he won the much coveted Premier League title five-time along with bagging the prestigious Champions League trophy and five FA Cups. The defender also played a very vital role during his time for the Three Lions as he captained the side on numerous occasions in the past.

Terry has backed three out of the four unbeaten sides in the league this season.to finish in the top three. The defender believes that his former side, Chelsea will make up for their disappointing previous season and after looking at their blazing start to the new campaign the defender has definitely gained confidence before making his predictions.

Tottenham who steamrolled Manchester United 0-3 at Old Trafford, lost in their latest league affair against Watford. Terry refused to give Pochetino and his men the top three finish rather he claimed that United and Spurs will fight for the fourth spot.

Despite having torrid times recently Terry did not rule out a comeback for Manchester United in the League as he feels that the Red Devils may end the Premier League campaign ahead of Tottenham. Now whether the statements are based on his admiration for former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho or Chelsea’s age-old rivalry against Tottenham is unknown.

The only other team whom Terry completely overlooked in his predictions was Watford FC. The Hornets are the only other side who are unbeaten in the league till now. Although one may say it is still early days in the league bit something like a fairytale of Leicester City three years ago is in the cards for Javi Garcia’s men.

The former Chelsea defender has joined Russian side Spartak Moscow after his contract ended with Aston Villa. Steve Bruce and his men failed to qualify for the Premier League after their 0-1 loss against Fulham in the EFL Championship Playoff final. Russia will be a new chapter in Terry’s life and career and the centre back has signed a single year contract with the club with an option to further increase another year.
