Talking Points: Chelsea Steal A Point At Home, Manchester United Back In Form, Mourinho Incident And More

Manchester United have held Chelsea at their own fort Stamford Bridge on Saturday in the Premier League. It was so far one of the best contests of this season’s Premier League so far. But it was not a good football displayed by the Blues in front of their home crowd. The players might have taken this Manchester United side too much lightly. Though the scoreline of 2-2 might be showing a fair result for both the sides. Here are the talking points for the match between Chelsea and Manchester United on Saturday at Stamford Bridge :

1.The First Half Dominated By The Blues :

Chelsea have completely dominated the first half of the match. The Blues were taking the control of the match from the very first minute of the match. Manchester United were looking clueless for most of the time in the first half. The Goal of Chelsea in the first half came from the corner taken by Willian. Paul Pogba was marking Antonio Rudiger; but lastly Rudiger just eased past him to put the header in the Goal. The first half of the match has ended with a scoreline of 1-0 in favour of the Blues.

  1. Interesting Team Selection By Jose Mourinho :

Jose Mourinho has fielded quite an attacking side against his former side Chelsea today. The former Chelsea manager has started Juan Mata ahead of Ander Herrera in this match which was quite surprising. On the other hand, Anthony Martial got the nod ahead of Alexis Sanchez.

  1. Anthony Martial’s Double Helped United To Take The Lead :

Anthony Martial was phenomenal in this match against Chelsea. His two shots on target were unstoppable and Kepa Arrizabalaga has no chance to save them. On the other hand, it has again shown the shaky defense of Chelsea. The counter attacking sides are taking advantage of the high line defense of the Blues in this team. This is exactly what happened today at Stamford Bridge. Jose Mourinho’s tactics have worked in the second half of the match and it was seeming that Manchester United were going to take all three points from Stamford Bridge. But the football God had some other plans.

  1. A Bad Day In The Office For Eden Hazard :

Eden Hazard has shown a really poor display at Stamford Bridge today and he was not looking confident in the second half of the match to break the defense of Manchester United. This Chelsea side is very much dependent on the Belgian winger. But the player has failed to live up to the expectations of the Chelsea fans at Stamford Bridge.

  1. Barkley’s Equaliser At 96th Minute Has Heated Up The Things At Stamford Bridge :

Chelsea got a free kick just before the end of the the match. Hazard gave the ball to Azpilicueta who has floated the ball in the penalty box. David Luiz’s header hit the post, Rudiger’s rebound shot was saved by David De Gea. But Ross Barkley has put in the Goal at the end of the match. The goal of Ross Barkley has heated the things at Stamford Bridge. One of the assistants of Maurizio Sarri has celebrated in a wild manner in front of Jose Mourinho and Mourinho as usually showed his aggressive mode. At the end of the match Jose Mourinho has shown three fingers to the Chelsea fans to indicate his three Premier League titles for Chelsea in past.
