According to the ‘Sun’, Chelsea are going to sign Callum Wilson in the winter transfer window of 2018-19 season. Callum Wilson has been in great form in this season’s Premier League. He is a vital player for Bournemouth in this season and almost scoring in every matches for them in recent times. Such a handsome performance in recent game weeks in the Premier League has helped Callum Wilson earn a position in the England National side. It is his first call up for the English National side and Danny Welbeck’s injury at the same time has also played a part in it.
The Blues are currently suffering in the Premier League due to lack of prolific goalscorers at the upfront of the field. They need a centre forward badly if they want to compete with Manchester City and Liverpool to win the Premier League title in this season.
Chelsea are still unbeaten in the Premier League this season ; but four draws in 12 matches so far have come due to lack of a proper centre forward to score the winning goal in the match. Manchester City are already four points ahead of the Blues in the League Table right at this moment. On the other hand, Liverpool are also two points clear of the London side.
Both these sides have some prolific goal-scorers. For Manchester City, the job is mostly done by Sergio Aguero and Raheem Sterling. On the other hand, for the Reds the attacking trio are still trying to do their best in this season; though they are not near their prime form of the previous season. The inclusion of Xherdan Shaqiri has made the attacking side of Liverpool better in this season. However, the thing at Stamford Bridge is not the same. The London based Premier League side is highly dependent on Eden Hazard to get the goals at the right moment of the match. Alvaro Morata has scored five goals in all competitions so far in this season; but his performance is still not very much convincing for the Blues in this season. The manager of Chelsea, Maurizio Sarri is also not happy with the performance of the Spaniard as he is still missing one on one opportunities.
For this reason, the other players of the Blues might be reluctant to give the pass towards him. Willian, Eden Hazard and Marcos Alonso are trying to cut inside the box and shoot for Goal instead of giving the ball towards Alvaro Morata. Morata is making those runs in the penalty box; but the supply of ball is not great. That’s why, the Blues need a new centre forward in the winter transfer window as the players are losing confidence in Alvaro Morata.
In this circumstances, Callum Wilson might be the ideal choice for the Blues as he has the eyes for Goals. He can also take part in the link up play that is must needed in the management of Maurizio Sarri. So a move towards Stamford Bridge is very much likely for the young English centre forward in this winter.
