Inter Milan’s over-ambitious move for World Cup winning star midfielder Paul Pogba may materialize, if the Nerrazzuri could allow two of their crucial first team players to make the move to the other side. Manchester United are reportedly interested in Milan Skriniar and Jose Mourinho is looking to improve his defence and increase options at the back for the Red Devils and Skriniar is one of the defenders he is very fond of. The other player in the double swoop is Croatian midfielder Ivan Perisic. The Red Devils have been time and again linked with the World Cup finalist and now once more he finds himself linked with a move to make his way to Old Trafford.
Paul Pogba, on the other hand, is considering his future at Old Trafford amidst high interest from former club Juventus. So Inter Milan’s interest to land the Frenchman will need them to challenge their top rivals in a battle for the French midfielder.
The whole deal has received a massive boost as Inter CEO, Beppe Marotta has gone ahead and spoken about his club’s interest in Paul Pogba being a prime target and to secure his signature the Italian giants are ready to allow Skriniar and Perisic to go the other way.
Both of the players were long-term targets for the Manchester side with Perisic valued at £48m and Skriniar at a higher £75m. The Slovakian defender ticks all the box currently required by Mourinho in a centre back. He is exceptional with his game reading and equally brilliant with the ball at his feet. Skriniar has been sturdy at the back for the Italian club and can be a huge move for the Red Devils after their repeated failure to sign a quality defender in the past transfer windows.
Whereas Perisic will add a more dynamism to the squad, obviously if the deal goes through. The 30-year old Croat is very intelligent with his movement on the flanks and he also an able number 9 if Mourinho needs him to play up front. His physicality makes him a threat from set pieces and his knack of scoring goals consistently makes him a very valuable player for the Nerazzurri. Perisic is also very experienced having plied his trade in various leagues all across Europe and will bring that to the side and can inspire the likes of Jesse Lingard, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford at Old Trafford.
Marotta has made Paul Pogba his main target for Inter Milan after leaving his post at Juventus. The 61-year is desperate to reunite with the star French midfielder this time donning the Black and Blue of Internazionale. Marotta have been at the helm of Juventus and saw the club conquer Italy for seven times consecutively as his contract expired, but now the Italian is fully convinced that he needs to break the shackles of the Bianconeri and elevate Inter Milan to the position it always belongs in Italian and World football.
The Nerazzurri are currently on a transfer ban by FFP rules though they can hold talks regarding deals but cannot sign the players until June 2019.
