Revealed: How This Player Forced His Move To Arsenal

The true and shocking details have been revealed about how Gunners’ star forward Pierre Emerick Aubameyang joined Arsenal mid-way through last season. It may not be something that Arsenal fans would have wanted to hear, or maybe it is, but hopefully, that’s in the past now.

There was a buzz around the Emirates Stadium last winter when there were rumors which floated around stating that Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund had come to an agreement with Arsenal over a deal for Pierre Emerick Aubameyang. However, there are some shocking details that have emerged as to how the striker was behaving during his last few months at the Signal Iduna Park.

Having spent 5 years at Borussia Dortmund, Aubameyang became a fan favorite for the German outfit after joining the club back in 2013 from Saint Etienne. The center-forward was a like for like replacement for the goalscoring Robert Lewandowski who left for Bayern Munich at the time. Aubameyang was incredible throughout his time at Dortmund under then manager Jurgen Klopp and even Thomas Tuchel. During the five season’s he spent in Dortmund, Aubameyang became a prolific goalscorer and the talisman for the Bavarian giants in a league dominated by their most hated rivals Bayern Munich. Aubameyang only managed to win the DFB Pokal Cup and the DFL Supercup during his time at Dortmund despite netting 141 times for the Black and Yellows in 213 games. Aubameyang also won the Golden Boot in Germany during the 2016-17 season when he notched up 31 goals in one season.

However, during the latter stages of his career at Dortmund, Aubameyang was unhappy due to the drop in form from the whole Dortmund outfit and decided that he wanted to leave the club. And then manager Peter Stoger has revealed the antics that Aubameyang was up to when he wanted to join Arsenal in the January transfer window last winter. While speaking to German news outlet Bild the 52-year-old Austrian said, “He left me no other choice He trained well four days of the week. But to underline his wish for a transfer, he skipped team meetings before games or refused to run during the final training. We did our best to keep him for at least another half a year, but Auba wasn’t ready for that.

Despite the bad behavior from his superstar, Stoger stated that he had no bad blood between the 29-year-old hit-man with Aubameyang even apologizing to the Austrian. “Honestly, I got along well with him although he kept me pretty busy for four weeks. But Auba personally apologized to me before joining Arsenal. He told me that his behavior had nothing to do with my personality and that he had felt my support.”

Hopefully, all of that is in the past and Aubameyang can now concentrate on playing where he wanted to play at Arsenal. With an extremely difficult test coming up against Premier League rivals Liverpool, the north London outfit will have to be at their best and Aubameyang needs to look sharp. The attacker is in the form of his life at present and can hopefully score a few more against the Merseyside outfit, helping his team win the game.
