Barcelona are set to rival Real Madrid and AC Milan for Manchester United youngster and England international Marcus Rashford. The Spanish champions have reportedly shown interest on the Manchester United academy product and with Barcelona there also considerable interest from their eternal rivals Real Madrid and Italian giants AC Milan.
The tension is fast rising at Old Trafford with the team finally playing as a unit after Jose Mourinho’s departure from the club. Ole Solskjaer has acted as a catalyst and has upheld the self-belief and confidence among the players. United now look a lot more compact and the players look like they have the freedom to express themselves on the field. The former United man who is at the club as a caretaker manager has started pretty well winning all the three matches comprehensively.
The 21-year old was not at his best during Mourinho’s reign has opened up in his play now. He has been a pivotal going forward and has bagged five goals and six assists in the league. However with Rashford’s development as a player, the 21-year old is attracting interest from some of the biggest European clubs and it will be a challenge for Manchester United to hold onto their prized possession.
Rashford scored in Manchester United’s recent 4-1 thumping against Bournemouth and it looks like he is the future at the club. However the same was not the case during Jose Mourinho’s time as the forward went in and out of the starting eleven for several times. It can be said that the Portuguese tactician failed to use the top English talent which was at his disposal.
Teams around Europe nowadays especially want to invest in young players who can be there at the club for the future. Rashford is a top talent and he has all the attributes and potential to become a star in near future. Hence clubs like Real Madrid and AC Milan who are especially in need of youthful exuberance in their squad are interested in him. It is pretty difficult to overlook when clubs like Barcelona have also entered the frame and it definitely raises questions on Rashford’s future at Old Trafford.
Manchester United are well equipped in front with players like Romelu Lukaku, Jesse Lingard Anthony Martial and Alexis Sanchez in their ranks, the competition at the club is usually very high for Rashford. With the Red Devils evolving to the superpower which they once were Solskjaer may look to bring in more firepower in the winter transfer window which increases the competition even more for Rashford.
However, Barcelona have been pretty active in the transfer market in the last two windows and securing Philippe Coutinho for such a big money fee and then again going for someone young like Marcus Rashford is improbable as the 21-year old has huge potential and it will take a fortune to lure him out of Old Trafford.
Real Madrid, on the other hand, are also not in the mood to spend big in the winter transfer window but a since the move of Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus has taken place, another youngster from Manchester seems like a viable option to fill the void in years to come. An eventual move to Madrid for Rashford is pretty much on the cards but talking about this transfer window the chances are bleak.
