Bayern Munich Now Face Competition From PSG For This Chelsea Star

Callum Hudson-Odoi is very furious with Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri regarding the lack of game time amid interest from German giants Bayern Munich and French Champions PSG. The 18-year old youngster was Bayern Munich main target in the winter transfer window but the Blues just about managed to convince him and kept him at Stamford Bridge promising more game time. Things have not gone according to plan and hence the youngster is furious with his manager, Maurizio Sarri.

Hudson Odoi issues a transfer request in January which Chelsea sorted out with aplomb keeping him at the club but since then the 18-year old has started only one game, their win over Sheffield Wednesday in the FA Cup and has played only 13 minutes in the Premier League since requesting a transfer.

The England U-17 World Cup winner was left out on the bench as the Blues lost 0-2 against Manchester United and got knocked out in the 5th round of the FA Cup. Hudson-Odoi’s chances of signing a contract extension at Chelsea receded as the player is clearly not happy with his time in London.

However, even Gianfranco Zola’s comments might have an effect on him not signing a new contract as the Italian commented on the winger to be on ‘the edge of the team’ and ‘there aren’t many 18-year-olds in Europe playing as many games as him.’

Hudson Odoi is evidently dispirited by boss Maurizio Sarri and his reluctance to use the youngster against teams like Malmo in the Europa League but with Zola’s comments on him, the youngster will now be convinced that the gaffer doesn’t believe in his abilities.

Now the situation is that Bayern Munich’s £35million bid in January was rejected and the Bavarians will again bid for him in the summer. Although the player will want to wait till January and allow his contract to run out and join the Germans in 2020. In that case, Chelsea will get minimal compensation than the £35million that Bayern are willing to pay. The youngster has also ignited interest across Europe and even French champions Paris Saint Germain are also interested in the English youngster and according to reports are set t rival Bayern Munich for his signature.

Hudson Odoi has been impressive whenever he was given opportunity and he looked like making an impression on Sarri when he started the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg against Tottenham Hotspurs. Since then he has not been in the mix for the Italian gaffer.

The Blues are going through some torrid time as their underwhelming performances this season just keep coming, be it against Bournemouth or Manchester City or even Manchester United in the FA Cup at the Stamford Bridge. Sarri seems to have lost his plot completely and his future at the club does not look very bright. Chelsea are currently in the sixth position on the league table behind London rivals, Arsenal. However, Manchester United who are on the fourth position right now are just a point ahead of the Blues and hence there is still hope for the Londoners to get back to the top four.
