Huge: Chelsea To Battle Both Manchester Giants For This Top Defensive Star

The Rumour So Far-

Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea are reportedly battling it out to secure the services of Crystal palace right back, Aaron Wan Bissaka. The Congolese winger has had excellent statistics while The Eagles played the Top 6 clubs with Wan Bissaka playing his heart out. The 21 year-old high quality superstar has been one of Palace’s standout performers for the Eagles, since being given his debut by Roy Hodgson last February cementing his place as their first choice at right-back.

Manchester City have been keeping tabs of the Croydon born full-back who would like to keep a replacement of Kyle Walker who would be shifted to left, when Benjamin Mendy suffers an injury and fellow Englishman, Fabian Delph is in off colors. Both centre-backs, Laporte and Stones have been experimented as side-backs by Guardiola and haven’t been quite up to the mark. City could enter the winter market to seal the services of yet another promising prospect of English football.

Fellow rivals Manchester United will also be likely interested with the prospect that Bissaka can be a permanent replacement for ageing Antonio Valencia who has seen his prime days pass by. United did sign a full back last summer, Diego Dalot, 19 from Portugal. While English international, Luke Shaw has been a consistent performer for The Red Devils this season, 33-year-old Antonio Valencia is set to leave at the end of the season. Also, the versatile Ashley Young, who is currently in talks over a new deal, turns 34 in July and it is time to bring in new young talents.

London club, Chelsea too turned their attention to quality side backs with the Eagles player topping the charts for Sarri who stresses on ball playing defenders. Cesar Azpilicueta is at present Chelsea’s first choice right-back, but they are in the market for a second option.

Davide Zappacosta is free to leave after just 18 months at Stamford Bridge, with the player not being utilized properly. The Italian does not fit into Sarri’s system and is looking for a possible future away from The North London club.

Following his immense rise at the South London club, Wan-Bissaka has recorded the second-most tackles in the Premier League this season with 77. Although, Wan-Bissaka is under contract at Palace until 2022 after being rewarded for his breakthrough with a new deal in April, it remains to be seen how long he is stay at Palace.

Chelsea’s Defensive Woes-

The west London outfit have had their fair share of problems at the back. The likes of David Luiz and Marcos Alonso have been quite inconsistent as the season has gone by. The team has struggled due to this reason and they need more quality defenders to bring solidity to the team under Sarri. Due to this, it is the Blues that are really in need of more top players and a defensive signing of this magnitude might really help their cause.

They will want to win some titles under the Italian manager and they need more additions to their current squad. It will be interesting to see how thing develop now, with Pep and Solskjaer also keep on bringing the young star to Manchester, in the upcoming days.
