A statue of former England captain, David Beckham is set to be unveiled outside the stadium of Los Angles outfit next month. The 43 year old former England international played for the MLS side for six years from 2007 to 2012 giving them league triumph in 2011 and 2012. The England international arrived at the MLS based club, back in 2007 under the ‘Designated Player’ rule for those high-profile players whose salary might affect the cap of a club. The former Manchester United and Real Madrid man was the first among many to play in an MLS side followed by Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Ashley Cole and Steven Gerrard.

Beckham, 43 is now a retired person. He holds a 10% share along with his fellow class of 92 stars, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Neville brothers and Nicky Butt in National League side, Salford City. He is also the co-owner of MLS expansion club Inter Miami. It is set to join the league in 2020.
Beckham featured 122 times for LA Galaxy. That was after winning the title in 2011 and retaining it in 2012. Beckham left the club and signed a short term deal with PSG before hanging up his boots once and for all at the end of the 2012-13 season.
