Latest Update On The Future Of Chelsea Star Amid Transfer Speculations

Callum Hudson Odoi is backed by the Premier league legend Michael Owen to stay at Chelsea amidst interest from Bayern Munich. The U-17 world cup winner with England, Hudson Odoi is the next big prospect coming out of the club’s academy. Most recently the starlet has come under overseas interest from Bayern Munich as he like most other academy graduate won’t be making the cut in the first team too often. Despite that the blues feels reluctant to sell this youngster, proved by turn down of numerous bids from the German giant.

Manchester United and Liverpool legend and now Sky pundit Michael Owen believes that the club based in East London is doing the rightful task to keep him in their locker room. In an interview with Daily Express, he remarked, ““The strange one in this situation is how anybody thinks that a player can leave Chelsea and go to a team like Bayern Munich and then be guaranteed to play even more.

“It is Bayern Munich for crying out loud. It’s not a weak team on the continent. We are talking Bayern Munich.”

“I am not sure anybody has ever been given absolute assurances that they are going to play X amount of games when they have been signed. I can not understand why everyone assumes you would go to Bayern Munich and be guaranteed to play more than you would at Chelsea.”

“We are talking another level up and one of the top five clubs in the world. Have a look at Bayern’s team. It is not bad and it is not going to be easy to penetrate into that.”

“I admire anybody that is doing it for the right reasons, but he is only 18 and is integrating into the first team. I don’t think Chelsea are doing a bad job in blooding a talented youngster.”

Owen is somewhat right in his views because Bayern do have enough talent and world class quality still to scoop them out of the devastating run of form they are having in this season. Even though Robben leaving the Bavarian dugout at the end of the season and Ribery’s age is becoming a toll on him on the opposite flank, Odoi will play the role of bench warmer once again if he makes the move to Allianz arena. However, like in the case of Serge Gnabry, he may be loaned out to some other Bundesliga club till he’s in demand to be a regular starter in the team but that chance is unlikely to be happening.

However, German clubs are sniffing in English talents to fill their demands. The lively example of this case is Jadon Sancho’s sparkling performance with Dortmund. With his contribution combined, Sancho along with Rues and others is keeping Borussia Dortmund on the top of the chart in quest to end the everlasting dominance of their rivals finally. But Sancho is an already established play-maker out there, something Hudson would not carry out in Bayern with his limited game time.

So Owen and fans sharing the same view is expecting Odoi to stay intact and fight for his place in the team. Sarri has used the youngster though but only in cup games where he has been massively consistent and poaching goals now and then. Also his link up play with his team-mates in the final third is worth watching.

In general league games, he’s not in his gaffer’s plans and his attempt of not signing a contract extension proves he’s a boy who likes to play more.  Anyway, he came on as a substitute after his team thrashed Huddersfield 5-0 at Stamford Bridge to curve away the humiliation in midweek so it was little for him to do anything in closing minutes.

For now, the 18 year old should think calm and clearly about his future whether he would be taking chances elsewhere or sit tight for his breakthrough in Chelsea blue’
