The Blues faithful have taken social media site Twitter to vent out their frustrations and questioned why their young superstar Callum Hudson-Odoi isn’t receiving regular football. The teenage superstar came on as a substitute late on in a 3-0 win over Dynamo Kiev in the Europa League win and Hudson Odoi scored the third goal and put on an impressive performance in the limited game time he was given. Despite that, he was not even in the playing eleven in the game against Everton in the top flight of English football, which the Blues lost 2-0 away at Goodison Park.
This was a huge shock for the fans once again, as he was brought on as a sub from the bench, to try and salvage something out of a game that the west London side should have won in the first place. This has been the story right through the season with Sarri not playing him regularly.
Ever since Maurizio Sarri has taken charge of Chelsea back in the summer of 2018, he has done quite an impressive job after replacing fellow Italian compatriot Antonio Conte. The ex-Napoli master tactician received plenty of praise and plaudits for the impressive and effective brand of style he instilled into his Chelsea players. The West London club reached the finals of the League Cup but unfortunately lost out to Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City on penalties. Sarri also led Chelsea past a tricky group in the Europa League Group stage unscathed and also made it to the Round of 16. A few poor performances in the Premier League made Chelsea slip down to sixth place and losing control of the top 4. Sarri was criticized for being stubborn and also had the possibility of losing his job because of a few poor results that followed.
However, impressive displays against local London rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Fulham brought Sarri some more time to keep his job intact. Even a win in Chelsea’s Europa League clash against Dynamo Kiev assured the Blues board that Sarri had not lost his players and he still cares about the results of the club and the direction in which it is heading. The positives around Chelsea have a dilemma though and the main reason is the emergence of teenage superstar Callum Hudson-Odoi.
The English superstar came on as a late substitute against Dynamo Kiev and scored a goal to ensure Chelsea didn’t suffer any hiccups in a 3-0 win over their opponents. Hudson Odoi proved that he is one of the most talented youngsters out there in the European continent but the Chelsea fans aren’t able to understand why he does not get regular football under Maurizio Sarri. Hudson Odoi has also attracted interest from Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich but Chelsea decided to keep hold of the 18-year-old.
So far, Hudson Odoi has managed three goals and one assist in seven Europa League appearances and he had also scored one goal in the FA Cup. Chelsea fans then took Twitter by the storm to express their despair as to why Hudson Odoi isn’t playing regularly.
