Gonzalo Higuain Reveals That Life At Stamford Bridge Is Fun, But The One Thing That He Misses

Chelsea striker Gonzalo Higuain revealed that after his long tenure in Italian Serie A with Napoli, Juventus and AC Milan, he is missing the atmosphere and the league in Italy. The Argentine scored against Fulham in the Blues 2-1 win and the goal takes his tally to three for his new side in the Premier League. He is currently on loan at Stamford Bridge from Juventus after his short stint at AC Milan did not work out well for the 31-year old.

The Story About The New Chelsea Striker

After the impressive win at the Craven Cottage against Wooden spooners fulham, Higuain caught up with Sky Italia speaking about the goal and his change in lifestyle from that in Italy as he said, “I am back? These things make me laugh, when I am back, when I do not only score. I am happy with the game and the goal. It is important to take the three points for the Champions League race. Now the final race is missing.”

“I left friends and a great coach at AC Milan. What happened there? These are things that happen in football and luck did not go well and I made a decision that for me was the best.”

As the Argentine also spoke about his experience at Milan and said that he is not surprised with them being third as they have a great coach and some great players. He feels that things did not work out for him at the San Siro and he had to move on for the sake of both parties.

Life Is Fun; But What Does Higuain Actually Miss At Stamford Bridge?

Higuain was also asked about the Napoli Juventus game which was supposed to take place later on that day, as he said: “I love the good things about football, it is going to be a great race, to win the best, there is nostalgia for Italy, I spent six wonderful years there but now I am enjoying this great city.”

Commonly known as El Pipita, Higuain has followed his intuitions when his former boss Maurizio Sarri came calling to join him at the Stamford Bridge as the Blues were suffering from a free-flowing goalscorer in their mix. Alvaro Morata who joined from Real Madrid had a torrid time in Chelsea colours and now the Spanish forward is loaned out to Atletico Madrid where he is living up to his expectations finally.

Higuain during his time at Italy was a proper marksman for both Napoli and Juventus. He scored 71 goals in 104 appearances for the Partenopei in all competitions that earned him a move to the Old Lady where he went on another gear scoring 40 goals in 73 appearances in all competitions for the Bianconeri. He won the Coppa Italia with Napoli in the 2013/14 season and went on to win further accolades for the Old Lady. He managed to win two consecutive Scudettos and Coppa Italia as Massimiliano Allegri’s men completed the double in both seasons.

He is now plying his trade for Chelsea under the tutelage of Maurizio Sarri. Despite having a decent start to the campaign there has been hurdles in his first season in the Premier League. The Blues are currently in 6th position only two points behind fourth-placed Manchester United with Sarri’s men having a game in hand. The Italian tactician will expect his side to end within the top four spots in the Premier League and get abck to the Champions League next season.
