According to the latest reports, Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has revealed his transfer plans in the summer as well as speaking out on the possibility of Chelsea star Eden Hazard joining the Los Blancos. The Chelsea star is still stalling a contract extension with the Blues and he could be on his way out of the club if they aren’t able to win or compete for trophies.
Ever since Maurizio Sarri took over Chelsea football club at the helm in the summer of 2018 by replacing fellow Italian compatriot Antonio Conte, he has done quite an admirable job. The ex-Napoli master tactician received plenty of praise and plaudits by fans and pundits across the globe for instilling a positive and effective brand of football into the Premier League. Sarri also led Chelsea to the finals of the League Cup but lost out on penalties to Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.
Chelsea has now made it to the quarterfinals of the Europa League as well but was eliminated from the FA Cup last month against Manchester United. A few poor results in the Premier League let Chelsea slip to sixth place on the League table and now they are in the hunt to finish in the top 4 to play Champions League football for next season.
Another club that is struggling this season is La Liga giants Real Madrid. The Spanish outfit sits third in the table 12 points behind leaders and fierce rivals Barcelona, Madrid were also eliminated from the Copa Del Rey last month by the Catalonians. The Champions League holders were also dumped out of the elite tournament after a pool of youngster from Dutch outfit Ajax handed them a battering at the Santiago Bernabeu causing plenty of humiliation. This led to the sacking of Santiago Solari and Madrid then reappointed former manager Zinedine Zidane this week.
The Frenchman was in charge of Real Madrid for two and a half years prior to his appointment before last week and helped the Los Blancos win three consecutive Champions League titles as well as one La Liga during his incredible tenure. Zidane then left in the summer of 2018 and that’s where the downfall for Madrid began. Now back at the helm, the 46-year-old is looking to bring the glory days back to the Spanish capital as he brought the Madrid giants back to winning ways in a 2-0 win over Celta Vigo at the weekend.
Zidane stated that he is now already looking forward to the summer transfer window for re-enforcements to bolster his Madrid side. The Frenchman has hinted his admiration for Chelsea winger Eden Hazard and the Belgian has also flirted with Real Madrid stating that it would be a ‘dream move’ if he played at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Zidane spoke to Spanish media outlets this week and said, “We will have changes (in the summer), but I cannot say anything more. I will not be here every 10 games thinking if someone played well they will stay, he played badly he must go.”
