Arsenal Photographer Trolls Tottenham Hotspur Stadium Big Time

Harry Kane

According to the latest reports, an Arsenal news reporter has mocked fun of their fierce rivals Tottenham Hotspur after the club unveiled their new stadium last week. A photographer named Stuart MacFarlane took to Social Media to profess his hilarious caption which went back to when Arsenal won the Premier League title at White Hart Lane.

What Is The Story Actually About; Why Did It Go Viral?

Ever since Unai Emery took charge of the Arsenal football club back in the summer of 2018, he has done quite a commendable job at the Emirates Stadium. The Spanish manager has stamped his authority into the club and instilled his brand of football into the team as well. Almost all of Emery’s summer signings have settled in well and had a positive impact on the club.

The 47-year-old manager has guided Arsenal to fourth place in the Premier League table. They are just one point behind Tottenham Hotspur in third place. The Gunners are in real contention to take up a top-four berth. Emery has also guided the club to a quarterfinals spot in the Europa League. Arsenal looks like serious contenders to go on and win the competition. However, Emery is still well aware that he needs to reinforce his current squad if they are going to win titles in the near future.

The Troll About Tottenham Made By The Arsenal Photographer

Emery inherited a squad from the legendary Arsene Wenger. The Frenchman was in charge of Arsenal for 22 long years. During his reign, Wenger won many honours. These included three Premier League titles and seven FA Cups as well. One of the most memorable instances of Wenger’s legacy was when Arsenal went on an incredible run. They won the Premier League going the whole season undefeated. The team was called the ‘Invincibles’. What made the title win even sweeter was the fact that it was on enemy territory at White Hart Lane.

White Hart Lane was Tottenham Hotspur’s former stadium. Only a few weeks ago the north London club opened up a new stadium. However, Arsenal fans are still taking the mickey out of their local rivals. Chief photographer MacFarlane posted a picture on Social Media site Twitter with the caption that read, “Nice of Spurs to commemorate the very spot where Ashley Cole and Thierry Henry celebrated Arsenal winning the league at WHL in 2004”. The tweet went extremely viral and received over 15,000 likes and over 6,000 retweets as well.

Henry and Cole were pictured together for Arsenal with the title back in 2004. That was after Arsenal drew 2-2 with Tottenham at White Hart Lane. The point was enough to see Arsenal win the Premiership that term.  MacFarlane couldn’t resist taking a dig at their most hated neighbours. Spurs fans waited 690 days for their new stadium to open up. That too, while all of their home games were played at Wembley. That was when the Tottenham Hotspur stadium was under construction.

Arsenal will now take on Watford on Tuesday. They will try to push further away from Tottenham Hotspur. That too, while trying to cement their place inside the top four at the end of the season.
