Chelsea Name Price For Star Attacker They Are Ready To Sell Now (Not Hazard)

According to the latest reports, Premier League side Chelsea have quoted a £40m price tag on star forward Michy Batshuayi if any club is interested in securing the services of the Belgian forward in the upcoming summer transfer window. Batshuayi is currently playing his football on loan from Chelsea with Crystal Palace but German side Borussia Dortmund is keen on his services for the next season.

Chelsea is currently in an uphill battle to finish inside the top four of the Premier League and it will be very difficult for the West London club to keep hold of their star players if they fail to qualify for the Champions League next term especially Eden Hazard. The 28-year-old Belgian has been attracting heavy interest from La Liga giants Real Madrid and the Los Blancos could take advantage of Hazard not signing a contract extension with Chelsea.

What’s worse for the Blues is the fact that they will be facing a transfer ban from FIFA because of their signing of youth players from foreign countries. If the ban is forced upon, Chelsea will not be able to make any signings for the next two transfer windows leaving them with the choice to bring back their players who are currently on loan at other clubs. Chelsea has been in dire need of a goal-scoring forward this season who can bang them in on a regular basis.

The misfiring Alvaro Morata was sent on loan to Atletico Madrid in the January winter transfer window and Chelsea signed Argentine striker Gonzalo Higuain on a loan deal as a replacement but the 31-year-old has not hit the ground running at Stamford Bridge. Although French center-forward Olivier Giroud has been scoring consistently in the Europa League, Chelsea needs him finding the net in England’s top flight as well if the club is to finish inside the top four on the Premier League table.

But surprisingly, Chelsea is allowing Belgian forward Michy Batshuayi to leave the club permanently in the summer after he completes his loan spell from local London neighbors Crystal Palace at the end of the season. Batshuatyi has scored thrice this season for Roy Hodgson’s side since joining Selhurst Park in January. The Eagles are not able to afford him as Chelsea are asking for £40m to sell the 25-year-old attacker who joined Chelsea back in 2016.

Batshuayi scored a few crucial goals for Chelsea in his debut season with the club which helped them win the Premier League title under former manager Antonio Conte. He was then sent on loan to German club Borussia Dortmund at the start of 2018 where he found a rich vein of form scoring seven goals in 10 appearances. Then Chelsea decided to send Batshuayi on loan to Valencia but he endured a torrid time in Spain netting just once in 15 La Liga appearances.

Chelsea may still want to keep hold of Batshuayi despite the transfer ban looming in the summer but could also be tempted to let go of the striker if a decent offer comes in.
