According to the latest reports, La Liga giants Real Madrid are plotting a summer transfer move for Liverpool’s superstar winger Sadio Mane in order to bolster their squad for next term. The Senegalese international has been in sublime form this season and has caught the eye of the European superpowers.
Liverpool is currently having one of their best seasons ever since the club was formed back in 1892 but the fans are still nervous. The Merseyside club are just one point behind leaders Manchester City in the Premier League table and are giving Pep Guardiola’s side a good fight until the end of the campaign. Jurgen Klopp has instilled a very attacking philosophy into the club since arriving back in 2015 but the defensive improvement has been immense as well. The Reds spent big money on signing Virgil Van Dijk from Southampton last winter transfer and also signed Dutch shot-stopper Alisson Becker in the summer to add a superb figure to the last line of defence. The emergence of Andrew Robertson at left-back has been superficial as well and the young Trent Alexander Arnold has shown levels of maturity beyond his age.
However, since the turn of the year, one player has been absolutely buzzing for Liverpool and he is none other than Sadio Mane. The star winger has now scored 11 goals in as many games across all competitions, with his form coming at a critical point in the season for Liverpool. With Mohamed Salah misfiring and Roberto Firmino also unable to find the net on a regular basis, Mane has taken on the mantle on himself to become the main man for the Reds. The 26-year-old’s dazzling goalscoring form also helped Liverpool get past Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich in the Round of 16 in the Champions League as Liverpool booked their spot in the quarter-finals of the tournament. These high-class performances have caught the eye of top clubs in Europe and Real Madrid are now keen on signing Mane.
Since the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo in the summer transfer window, Los Blancos have been struggling to find an iconic figure at the club. The Portuguese talisman left for Juventus in a stunning deal after scoring 450 goals for the La Liga club in nine seasons leaving as the club’s all-time top goalscorer. The void that Ronaldo has left can be filled by very few players in the world and Real Madrid are now keen to find that replacement in the upcoming summer transfer window.

With Sadio Mane’s impressive performances, Real Madrid are now looking to snap up the star play-maker as he is showing his worth to the rest of the world and how brilliant and lethal he can be. The issue for Madrid to sign Mane would be that the Liverpool star just recently signed a contract extension earlier in the season and he could not be for sale as Klopp would like to keep him at Anfield for a long time.
However, when Los Blancos come calling, there is no denying the La Liga giants. Perez’s interest in the attacker is strong and there is no doubt that he can make the deal happen.
