According to the latest reports, Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah has revealed that he is not worried about his goal-scoring form but rather keen on helping Liverpool win the Premier League title instead. The Reds scored a late winner against Tottenham Hotspur which still kept them alive in the title race with just six more games to go.
Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool is currently having one of their best seasons ever since the club formed back in 1892. The Merseyside club currently sit at the summit of the Premier League at the moment and are two points ahead of Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City who is in second place. Although Manchester City still have a game in hand, Liverpool have done exceedingly well to still remain in and around the Premier League champions at this stage of the season. Last year, Manchester City broke multiple records as they stormed their way to the Premier League title, amassing a record 100 points.
Liverpool also made it to the quarterfinals of the Champions League and last season’s finalists will be looking to avoid another heartbreak this time around. Liverpool have been in brilliant form this whole season as a unit but one player who has not been hitting the peak of his form off late has been Egyptian superstar Mohamed Salah. The star winger arrived at Anfield last season from AS Roma and tore up the record books in his debut season, with Liverpool scoring 44 goals across all competitions and leading them to the Champions League final as well.
That remarkable feat was surely going to be difficult to live up to in the following season as expectations rose but Salah got off to a rather slow start in the Premier League this season. Although he was still creating chances, Salah wasn’t his usual self in front of goal. He is still Liverpool’s top scorer this season but at the moment hasn’t scored in his last eight games. However, Salah played a key part in Liverpool’s win last night against Tottenham Hotspur when his header caused panic and a Toby Alderweireld own goal. It didn’t go down as a Salah goal but it brought relief and three points to Liverpool as they kept the pressure on Manchester City.

Speaking after the game, the 26 year old Salah revealed that he is not too bothered about individual honors and would rather like to win something with the club at the end of the season, In a conversation with Jamie Carragher of Sky Sports he said, ‘I do not score for a few games and there are players on the same number of goals as me and they say they are having the best seasons of their lives, I do not care if I do not get the goal – three points is the most important thing. If they do not give it to me, I do not care, we have won. I am happy. You keep in the race, you just have to win – find a way to win. Southampton are fighting for their lives and they want the points also, so we have to win each game. If you look at the crowd (when we scored), it was crazy. They just want to win the Premier League and we will do everything to make it happen.’
Liverpool will have to keep the momentum going because any Manchester City mistake will have to be pounced upon if they are to win the Premier League title this season.
