Arsenal And Manchester United Could Replace Manchester City In The Champions League

North London giants Arsenal and their fierce rivals Manchester United could qualify for the Champions League through the EPL itself, as confirmed. The Gunners have received a huge hope and boost for the chance to play in Europe’s top cup competition, with the latest reports suggesting that the UEFA could be on the verge of banning Manchester City from participating in next season’s competition.

As per the information from various reports now, which includes the BBC, SKYSPORT and BEINSPORT, UEFA’s Chief of Investigators’ Yves Leterme, has requested that the champions of England should be banned from the Champions League for the upcoming term, as they violated the fair play rules. UEFA will possibly take a decision in the next 48 hours, though if it goes against the Citizens, they will have the opportunity to make an appeal as well.

If the decision is taken in favor of banning Manchester City, Arsenal and even possibly Manchester United (as rumours are going around, though we have no clue how) could be playing in the competition in the upcoming campaign. The Gunners are the ones who will be directly securing a qualification, as confirmed by these rumours after securing the fifth place. On the other hand, if they win the Europa League, then Manchester United will be playing in the Champions League next season, as the stories are suggesting.

Though, we at Beyond The Posts are rather confused as to whether that could actually happen or not, the reports have been confirming that if the north London giants win the Europa League, the Red Devils could be in too. This is just a possibility that we are ready to consider, as it would only benefit the English clubs even more.

The clubs from the top flight of English football have already showcased their dominance in Europe this term and will want to continue to do so in the years to come. This could be a sign of things for them, with City’s demise from the tournament in the current campaign, giving them a boost to do more.

It could also help Emery and Solskjaer get in some new signings, who would have otherwise opted for clubs playing the Champions League and a top-four finish. It means that the dynamic of the league in England could totally change, depending on the final verdict that is made in this case.

However, it has been confirmed that the official decision will be taken in the upcoming days and Manchester City will be having the right to appeal if they get banned. Whether that will make a difference or not and which club eventually does benefit from this, remains to be seen.

For now, the Gunners will be focused on their Europa League final against Chelsea in Baku, while Tottenham and Liverpool have a clash of their own at the Bernabeu. Things could really get interesting with the Manchester United fans actually supporting their fierce rivals Arsenal in the final to have an opportunity to make it into Europe’s top cup competition, if City does indeed get the ban.
