Shocking – Manchester United Legend Makes Strange Comment Amid Transfer Speculations

According to the latest reports former Manchester United superstar Wayne Rooney has admitted that Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho should not join the Red Devils and remain in the Bundesliga. The English star has been linked with a move away from the Westfalenstadion and is one of Manchester United’s main targets this summer, though the former United skipper has made this shocking comment now.

Manchester United suffered a torturous season in the Premier League as they finished in sixth place on the table and without any chance of winning silverware. At the start of the season, Jose Mourinho was in charge of the club but the United faithful did not take too kindly towards his defensive and negative tactics. The writing was on the wall for the 56-year-old manager as he was not able to deliver success and the football was dire. United parted ways with Mourinho back in December and then decided to appoint Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to handle the reigns at least until the end of the season.

The Norwegian exceeded expectations at the helm after just a few games as he guided United into the quarter-finals of the Champions League in dramatic fashion after eliminating Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint Germain. The Red Devils overturned a 2-0 deficit against the French champions and won 3-1 at the Parc des Princes to progress through to the next round. There were also a string of positive performances in the Premier League which helped United close in on a top-four position. These impressive performances handed Solskjaer a three year deal with the club but after signing his job on a permanent contract, the results did not go United’s way.

The Red Devils were dumped out of the Champions League against Barcelona and also suffered humiliating defeats in the Premier League including a final day 2-0 defeat against Cardiff City. This indicated that there is plenty of work that needs to be done over the next few years if United are going to win titles on a regular basis. Solskjaer has already splashed out on two signings this summer and is now targeting Dortmund sensation, Jadon Sancho.

The 19-year-old winger scored 12 times and laid off 14 assists in the Bundesliga, but Sancho has been advised to turn down Manchester United by Wayne Rooney. The Old Trafford faithful would surely be confused about the former England skipper’s call on this matter (Whose side is he on exactly?).

While speaking to German publication Bild, the 33-year-old striker said that Sancho may not get regular football at Old Trafford and should to stay with Dortmund because he is young and important at the Westfalenstadion, “Dortmund is a great club with great fans, they trust their young players and you can see that in Sancho and the progress he has made in the last 12 months, Now Jadon has to ask himself whether he would get the playing time he gets in Dortmund when he moves to England, or would he just sit on the bench? Playing time is so important for a young player like Jadon, so if he gets the most playing time in Dortmund, he should stay there.”
