The Main Reason Why Willian’s Future Is Secured At Chelsea For Now

The star Brazilian winger is now going to settle at Chelsea. There were a lot of speculations going on about the future of Willian at Chelsea. The Catalan Giants came with many offers to get in the star winger. However, Willian decided to stay at Chelsea dismissing all the rumours.

Willian has finally extended his contract with Chelsea for another two seasons. This might be a really good news for the fans at this moment. The Blues are currently having a transfer ban and they can not sign a new player in this summer transfer window. The star player of Chelsea, Eden Hazard left the club to join his dream club Real Madrid.

Eden Hazard’s departure has created a huge void in the lineup of the Blues. He was the best player of the side for obvious reasons. Now there has been a big void in the squad of Chelsea. The club management brought in Christian Pulisic in the winter transfer window. Christian Pulisic is an youngster and he is still not matured enough to put himself into the feet of Eden Hazard.

Willian is a server of Chelsea for last few seasons. Despite getting several offers from other clubs, he decided to stay at Chelsea. Though, according to the pundits Willian has not been in his prime form in the previous season. He is also ageing and at 30 plus age the club management of the Blues should have considered to sell him to another club. With selling Willian, the club management could have got a transfer fees worth £50m-60m. That would be beneficial for them to buy players in the next transfer window.

However, the club management of the Blues have thought it in some other way. The Blues have renewed the contract of Willian. They also gave the jersey no 10 to the star Brazillian winger. Willian still has not joined the preseason training session of the Blues. He has picked up an injury in the Copa America semifinal against Argentina. He is still recovering from the injury and Frank Lampard do not want to take any risk with the injured players.

In a recent interview, Willian told that he would wear the number 10 jersey for the Blues in the upcoming season. The club management have promised him to give that number after the departure of Eden Hazard. However, Callum Hudson-Odoi also wished to have the same jersey number. The youngster of Chelsea has not signed an offer of contract renewal for the Blues.

Frank Lampard clearly mentioned that he would want players at Chelsea who would play for the badge. Otherwise the players can go wherever they want. The passion for playing for the club has been the key of success in Frank Lampard’s playing career at Chelsea. He wants to follow the same in his managerial career at Stamford Bridge.

Though, Pedro will give a good competition to Willian in terms of making it to the starting lineup. Eventually with time Willian will be beneficial for Chelsea in the upcoming season.
