Arsenal Star’s Exit Sparked Major Debate Amongst The Fans; What Next For The Gunners?

The Report Back Then-

Everton finally landed Alex Iwobi from Arsenal in the last few hours of the deadline day. The Toffees had submitted a bid of £30m for the Nigerian international a few days back, but the Gunners were unwilling to let him leave for the quoted amount. As per the report, the Merseyside club returned with a fresh bid of £34m, as manager Marco Silva looked set to add more fire-power to his attack, ahead of the next season.

The Toffees already made a number of inroads this summer and added players like Andre Gomes, Moise Kean and Djibril Sidibe. However, it seemed that the Merseyside club are unwilling to give up on their pursuit of the 23 year old, after their negotiations to land Wilfried Zaha from Crystal Palace fell through earlier today.

The Nigerian had been one of the main-stays in the attack for his country in the recently concluded African Cup of Nations, as the Super Eagles finished the tournament on the third place. However, as far as Iwobi’s club career is concerned, the player had been utilized as a substitute on most occasions in the last term under the tutelage of new manager Unai Emery. A move to Everton might see him land a starting role under Marco Silva in the next term.

As far as Everton is concerned, they have been well stacked in the attacking department with the likes of Bernard, Dominic Calvert Lewin, Theo Walcott, Cenk Tosun and Richarlison already a part of their team. However, except Richarlison, none of the attackers have been able to live up to the expectation of the supporters. This seems to have not gone down well with the Portuguese gaffer and he is willing to revamp his squad ahead of the next term, especially as far as the attack is concerned.

The 23 year old, who made 35 Premier League appearances in the last term for Arsenal, scoring three while assisting seven, could be a perfect addition to the Toffees’ squad. His darting runs down the left hand side could bring menace for the opposition defenders and can come very handy for Silva, who is ready to use Richarlison as the wide attacker on the right hand side with Kean leading the line.

What Impact He Can Have At Everton?

The inclusion of Iwobi can also help the Portuguese manager change his predicted lineup from the regulation 4-2-3-1 to a more aggressive 4-3-3. Apart from that, this will also make the Everton attack one of the youngest and exuberant one, which can tear apart the opposition defence once the season starts.

With the interest remaining the same for the Toffees to land the Nigerian international, it is now to be seen whether they can manage to bring him in this summer and add to their stellar lineup that they are set to field in the next season. Hopefully, it is going to be a busy deadline day for the Blues of Merseyside.

The Great Debate-

The Gooners have been debating now over the past few days, whether or not the Londoners should have sold their star winger. While some fans feel that he was no good for the club and had not really made the kind of impact that he was expected to make, others have been arguing his case saying that he deserved more opportunities.

Whatever be the case, only time will tell how things will end. If he can make an impact at the Merseyside in the near future, another bigger club could sign him in the days to come.
