The Biggest Problem That Unai Emery Faced Prior To The Liverpool Clash

The Problem That Unai Emery Faces- Arsenal faced one of their toughest tests in the Premier League this weekend. That is, as they made the trip to Anfield to play Liverpool on Saturday night. The North London giants had won two out of their opening two games. They were entering a place where they had not really been able to get the desired results.

Liverpool managed to beat Arsenal with a convincing scoreline and 3-1 in this match. It was the end result of the day.

The Story Of The Game Between Arsenal And Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool is ready to challenge Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City for the Premier League title this season, as the Reds have now won their first three games and sit at the summit of the table. Even the German manager was wary of Unai Emery’s side that will visit Anfield this weekend as the Gunners are looking for a much more refined unit with their new additions in the summer transfer window.

Arsenal finished in fifth place last season and missed out on a Champions League berth as they lost to local London rivals Chelsea in the final of the Europa League in Baku. Emery has managed to lure in players this summer to bolster his squad by investing and making big changes to the club.

Even the old faces have been showing a bit of gut and desire to play for the badge as the fresh air could land Arsenal an unlikely win against Liverpool.

The Story Of The Game And The Result That Followed Under Emery

A few of the big signings that Arsenal made in this summer transfer window are Nicolas Pepe from Lille, Dani Ceballos from Real Madrid on a loan deal, Kieran Tierney from Celtic, David Luiz from Chelsea and Gabriel Martinelli from the Brazilian Premier League. However, the best way to prove themselves was by winning titles.

Last weekend’s win over Sean Dyche’s Burnley showed that Arsenal has the fight and courage to play. Unai Emery has a bit of a good headache considering the players that he has at his disposal. The Spanish boss has Dani Ceballos who has looked extremely comfortable in midfield creating chances and pulling the strings for Arsenal.

Matteo Guendouzi has also proved that he is worthy of a starting berth for the Liverpool game away from home. Joe Willock will also be given a shout. Emery also has Lucas Torreira and Granit Xhaka at his disposal. He can call upon them or drop either one of the earlier three attacking midfielders.

Another massive call that Emery needed to make is whether he would want to start with Nicolas Pepe or not. That is, as the Ivorian showed glimpses of his brilliance against Burnley in the 2-1 win at Emirates. The Arsenal coach said that Pepe might need a bit more time to settle in after spending only 45 minutes on the pitch (though he eventually dropped Lacazette to the bench).

While speaking on the latest club-record signing Emery explained, “He has been with us only two weeks, he needs more to fit in, I spoke with him yesterday on how he is feeling every day with us. He is feeling progressively better. He needs more. Today 45 minutes for him is perfect.”
