Chelsea Reject Offer For Star Player; As Transfer Window Draws To A Close

According to the latest reports, Premier League side Chelsea have rejected an offer from Turkish club Besiktas over a potential move for Belgian forward Michy Batshuayi. The 25-year-old striker has been out of favour with current manager Frank Lampard but Batshuayi is still a candidate for Chelsea as the club has decided against selling him this summer transfer window.

Chelsea finds themselves in a bit of a tricky situation at the moment as they have just lost star man Eden Hazard to Real Madrid in the summer transfer window in a staggering £132 million deal. The 28-year-old was one of the key members for the Blues over the last few seasons but it was his dream to play for the Los Blancos at the Santiago Bernabeu and his departure will leave a massive void at the club.

Along with Hazard, even Maurizio Sarri left Chelsea this summer as the job at Juventus opened up. The 60-year-old Italian master tactician returned to his native after just one season in charge of Chelsea and former Blues midfielder Frank Lampard was the man to fill in the boots for the 60-year-old Sarri this summer. Lampard had just one season of management experience when he was at Derby County in the Championship. The 41-year-old almost led the Rams to Premier League promotion but the job at Chelsea is of a much more difficult magnitude and Lampard has a transfer ban looming over his head which means that he cannot purchase any players for a whole year.

The West London outfit was hit with a transfer ban for the illegal loan deals of several young players and that has restricted them from buying any players for the next two transfer windows. Chelsea brought back some of their youngsters from loan and recalled them back to the club in order to fill in the void for the transfer ban. Some of them have returned and are performing quite well in all fairness which means that Lampard deserves some credit for that.

Chelsea has the option to offload some of their key forwards and one of them is Michy Batshuayi as the 25-year-old striker has been pushed further down the pecking order behind Olivier Giroud and even Tammy Abraham. Giroud’s experience is key but he lacks the pace factor while Abraham is still relatively young and has a lot to learn.

Chelsea has another front line attacking option in the form of Michy Batshuayi but it seems like the Belgian will not be leaving the club despite being forced to train with the U-23’s squad. Batshuayi has spent time on loan with Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund, Valencia and even Crystal Palace since signing for Chelsea back in the summer of 2016.

But Batshuayi has admitted that he is willing to fight for a starting berth at Chelsea this season ruling out a potential exit from Stamford Bridge as Besiktas have shown interest in the star forward. The Super Lig club is keen on Batshuayi as the European transfer window closes on September 2nd but the Belgian will stay at Chelsea.
