Inter Milan welcome Udinese at San Siro in their third Serie A game after the International break with consecutive wins over Lecce and Cagliari. Antonio Conte’s men will look to extend their hundred percent start to the new campaign with a lethal frontline that is shining in form.
Conte will be hoping for the top drawer performances in the last two games work for them this time out too and an increase in the goal difference tally as they look to beat Juventus by staying first on the point chart at the end of the weekend.
On the flip side of the coin, Udinese had a mixed start to the campaign. They started the season brightly by stunning Ac Milan in their home but were thrashed in the hands of Parma which led manager Igor Tudor to reconsider his game plan ahead of his first away game of the season.
Inter Milan
The highlight moment for the club and its fan will be Alexis Sanchez’s debut in Nerazzurri shirt since his move from Manchester United on loan in the summer transfer window. The Chilean is likely to be handed a start in the game alongside his teammate Romelu Lukaku, from the same club he made his move from, even though he was heavily involved in the friendlies with his nation. This will force the former Udinese man Kwadao Asamoah to feature from the bench. Roberto Gilardino can also be given a start after impressing in training. Antonio Conte will go for his favourite 3-5-2 formation yet again with Lukaku eyeing the top scorer award so early in the season. His striking partner Lautaro Martinez will be looking to go on with his fine form after his outstanding hat trick against Mexico with Argentina.
Udinese
That would mean Juan Musso, Udinese last man of defence, to put up an impressive show to prevent the free-scoring side from rippling the net. Musso was definitive against Parma even though he couldn’t help conceding three goals that cost them the game. Coach Tudor has to put emphasis more on their defensive setup that will also contain a 3 men backline with Troost Ekong to play an important role and wish for a shocker once again. Udinese’s strength, however, will be their attack in the form of De Paul and Kevin Lasagna to exploit spaces on the back on counters.
