Breaking: Huge Update On The Future Of Unai Emery At Arsenal

The Unai Emery story- Unai Emery’s three-year contract details have always been shrouded in mystery. He was appointed as the man in charge to lead the Gunners after Arsene Wenger left the club last summer following a very thorough interview process. Apparently, it has been reported that the former Sevilla and Paris Saint-Germain manager does not have a break clause in his contract at the end of the season.

It was previously understood that Emery’s three-year contract contained a break clause at the end of his second year in a term as manager of the club. There was no real confirmation given about the same.

The Story About The Future Of Unai Emery At Arsenal Now

Had that existed, it would allow the club to sack him without paying any further compensation. With the new sets of reports emerging, it seems that the non-existence of the break clause means Arsenal would have to pay him if he is sacked now.

There are media outlets that claim that Emery has a two-year contract with the option of a 3rd year, but The Athletic has claimed that he is indeed having a three-year contract at the Emirates. This piece of information is not claimed to be concrete but the news outlet is claiming that a number of sources at the club has confirmed this piece of information.

As history goes, Arsenal has always given their managers time to settle and work on their projects and the board would really like to see Emery reaching full potential with the crop of bright and young players in the team.

The recent change in the hierarchy at the decision-making level might also mean that Arsenal might fall in line with the come and go managerial appointments in order to strive to reach the targets and establish themselves amongst the elite in Europe. The 47-year-old Spaniard might find himself in an uncomfortable situation should Arsenal finish out of the top 4 once again.

However, director Josh Kroenke is satisfied with his progress and believes Unai is the right man for Arsenal to achieve their targets. He spoke at length about Emery in August.

What Will Be The Fate Of The Spaniard After The Recent Comments?

“I think he is doing a great job – has done a great job and is doing a great job,” the American said.

“Turning the page from such a legendary manager and figure as Arsene – not only at Arsenal but in European football – was always going to be a difficult page to turn and as a club, I think we have turned it as elegantly as we could.”

“I think Unai’s daily approach is fantastic. He is out there on the pitch, he is working, he is watching the video, he is communicating and his daily energy and devotion to his work are fantastic – it is exactly what we need.”

“Challenging for the Premier League title is always our goal, that is what we talk about constantly. Based on the strength of our league, which is the greatest in the world, if you are competing for the Premier League title, you are competing elsewhere for other silverware as well; whether that is the FA Cup, whether that is European silverware. We want to go for it all.”
