Liverpool Edged Past Wolves; Kevin De Bruyne’s Masterclass Keeps Manchester City In Title Race

Liverpool edged past Wolves on Sunday to stay at the top of the table of the Premier League. They collected 55 points from 19 matches so far. Leicester City is currently 13 points behind the Reds and also they have played one more match than Liverpool. So, Jürgen Klopp and Co can certainly hope for the Premier League triumph this season. On the other hand, the Wolves stayed at the seventh position in the League table with 30 points in 20 matches so far.

Liverpool Edged Past Wolves; Good Overall Performance By The Merseyside Outfit

Sadio Mane gave Liverpool the much-needed breakthrough at the 42nd minute of the match. Adam Lallana provided the ball towards Sadio Mane at this time. However, Pedro Neto’s goal was disallowed by VAR at the injury time of the first half. The first half ended with a scoreline of 1-0 in favour of the Reds.

The likes of Raul Jimenez, Adama Traore and Roman Saiss were not in the starting lineup of Wolves in this match. The manager of Wolves brought all three players in the field in the second half. Wolves got so many chances in the second half of the match, but they failed to utilize those opportunities into the goal despite creating pressure on the Liverpool defence. In another match of the Premier League, Manchester City registered a brilliant win against Sheffield United at Etihad Stadium on Sunday. Sheffield United stayed at the eighth position in the League table with 29 points in the same number of matches.

John Lundstram was not in the squad of Sheffield United in the match against Manchester City. On the other hand, Sergio Aguero started as the lone centre-forward for Manchester City in this match.

Lys Mousset’s goal was cancelled by VAR at the 29th minute of the match. The defensive unit of Sheffield United was looking compact. Manchester City was not able to penetrate the defence in the first half. The first half ended with a scoreline of 0-0 at Etihad Stadium.

Aguero Delivers Once Again; Great Win For The Team From Manchester

Sergio Aguero scored the first goal of the match in the 52nd minute. The ball was provided by Kevin De Bruyne at the time of the goal. Bernardo Silva was shown a yellow card at the 59th minute of the match. Calum Robinson was taken off by the manager of Sheffield United at the same time and David McGoldrick was introduced in the field.

Kevin De Bruyne scored another goal at the 82nd minute of the match to secure the win for Manchester City. Riyad Mahrez provided the assist for this goal. The match ended with a scoreline of 2-0 in favour of Manchester City.
