Chelsea have been thrashed by Bayern Munich at Stamford Bridge by a margin of 3-0. The Blues have not been able to show enough fight in front of their home supporters. The Blues have completely been outclassed by the Bavarians in the away match. Here are the talking points of the match between Chelsea and Bayern Munich :

1. The Formation Of Frank Lampard Did Not Work:

The formation of Frank Lampard have not worked due to the inefficiency of his players. The manager of the Blues, Frank Lampard has used the formation of 3-4-2-1 against Bayern Munich.  Frank Lampard has deployed Cesar Azpilicueta, Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger as three centre-backs. Reece James and Marcos Alonso have been deployed as two wingbacks. On the other hand, Mateo Kovacic and Jorginho have been there as two central midfielders.

Mason Mount and Ross Barkley have been there as two attacking midfielders. Olivier Giroud has played as the lone centre forward for the Blues. Mason Mount and Ross Barkley have not been able to do their job in the attacking midfield area. Mason Mount and Ross Barkley have been given the responsibility of pressing through out the whole match. However, they have not done it in the second half of the match. Chelsea have not shown the intensity and that might be the reason of their downfall in this match.

2. Bayern Are A Title Contender This Season:

Bayern Munich are one of the title contenders this season for the Champions League. They are having one of the most balanced squads in Europe at this moment. The Bavarians are having the players like Phillipe Coutinho, Correntin Tolisso and Leon Goretzka coming off from the bench. It certainly shows the quality of the side.

3. Inexperienced Chelsea Players:

Most of the players of Chelsea are inexperienced and they have not played Champions League football previously. It is to be remembered that the players of the Blues are from their academy. They are not as experienced as the players of Bayern Munich. The experience might be the key to success for Bayern Munich this season. The players of Chelsea are certainly doing the best they can. They are still in the top four of the Premier League. The Blues certainly need to sign some new players to have been in competitive terms with the teams like Bayern Munich.

4. Main Focus Should Be Finishing In The Top Four This Season For Chelsea:

The main focus of the Blues should be finishing at the top four this season in the Premier League. Qualification in the Champions League next season should be the priority of the Blues to make some new signings in the transfer window. Hakim Ziyech has signed a pre-contract with the Blues. He will join the west London outfit in the next term.

Chelsea will need to sign one more world-class defender and centre-forward to be competitive in the Champions League again. The time has come to accept the fact that the Blues are certainly far behind the era of pre-2012.
