Chelsea, Liverpool And Manchester United Eyeing This Arsenal Target

Arsenal

Premier League trio of Arsenal, Everton and Wolverhampton Wanderers are believed to be interested in James Rodriguez. If reports in England are true, all three Premier League sides are keen to land the Colombian attacking midfielder this summer. He has not been at his best in recent times. The likes of Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United have been linked previously with him as well.

The 28-year-old has had a troubled time with Real Madrid for quite some time now and could finally seal an exit this summer. The Los Blancos are apparently ready to sell the Colombian superstar with his contract expiring in 2021. The playmaker has been linked with a switch to the top flight in English football for a long time now.

The likes of Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool have all been interested in the Colombian superstar at some point of time over the years. The 28-year-old made his name in Europe with Porto, where he won three league titles and the Europa League, before sealing a £40m move to Monaco in 2013.

That Unforgettable World Cup

He had an incredible 2014 World Cup campaign that will forever be remembered as one of the best performance from an individual. His exceptional World Cup campaign helped him secure his dream move to Real Madrid, where he landed two Champions League and one La Liga title.

However, the midfielder eventually fell out of favour under Zinedine Zidan. He ended up spending two seasons on loan at Bayern Munich. He returned to the Bernabeu last summer. Despite that, he has made just seven league appearances this season.

Now he looks more than done at Real Madrid. The attacker needs a new challenge which the Premier League can offer him. Arsenal are said to be looking to sign Rodriguez as a replacement for Mesut Ozil. The German World Cup winner’s uncertain future at the Emirates is the reason.

Everton, now managed by Carlo Ancelotti who has a great relationship with Rodriguez and signed him for both Real and Bayern, are also said to be in the race. Meanwhile, Wolves have a strong connection with the player’s agent Jorge Mendes and cannot be ruled out of the race as well.

With that being said, both the Blues and the Red Devils are keen on signing the Arsenal target. Liverpool does not have the luxury of providing him with regular game-time. The Gunners have revived themselves a bit under Mikel Arteta. However, they will be keen to get back to winning titles.

Who Will Sign Him Now?

All teams have not been at their very best in recent times. Liverpool and Manchester City have looked a class apart. Keeping that in mind, there is a need for change and that can be inculcated with a few top signings.

Adding James to the picture could be a great option for these clubs. They have been keen on more creative midfielders. Before he was misused, James was really good creatively. He could run through defences and score some brilliant goals. However, he has failed to do that in recent times.

He will be eager to put his Bayern days behind him and now focus on the days ahead. If things work out with regards to a deal, he could be hoping to revive his career in England at the age of 28 now.
