According to German media reports, 20-year-old Kai Havertz has been approached by some of the Premier League giants. The teams who want to strengthen their squad with an attacking midfielder are in talks with him. ‘Kai Havertz’ is a popular name in England as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Jurgen Klopp and Frank Lampard have held talks to sign Bayer Leverkusen’s midfielder. The player is in talks with Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool, as confirmed.
The Germany-based footballer is set to leave his current club by the end of this season. He is currently negotiating with seven major clubs including Chelsea, a German website reported. With Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid’s interest in him, Kai’s signing is going to be a task this year.
However, the 20-year-old midfielder may make a decision by next week keeping his favourites Barcelona and Bayern in mind, but also after dealing with rumours that Pochettino might become the next Bayern manager. Kai Havertz has scored 26 goals and registered 20 assists during his 98 appearances in the Bundesliga. He also has seven caps for his national side.
Leverkusen’s management understands this level of interest and will want to make an insane profit out of this deal. They have set a €130m (£111m) asking price for the player. Havertz has scored twice and completed one assist in ten appearances this season. However, his goals column during the Champions League remains empty.
What The Chelsea Target Said?
While talking to the Spanish media Kai said, “I think I have picked up enough international experience at Leverkusen. I know the rhythm of these international matches and I am confident that I can go abroad at any moment and play at clubs outside of Germany. For the moment, I want to have a good season. Afterwards, we will see.”
Manchester United seem to be the most desperate side who see the German international as the best candidate to take some workload off Frenchman Paul Pogba. The Frenchman’s injury has further added to Old Trafford’s worries and Ole would not want to miss a more than perfect replacement to get everything back in order. While this is transfer news, there are also some rumours that say that the France international might have to leave the Red Devils, who are also looking for other suitors.
On the other hand, Klopp’s men would want to add Havertz just to complete their jigsaw puzzle. The defending UEFA champions have created enough probability for them to win the Premier League this year and will surely like another attacking mindset in their tanks.

Bayern cited an opportunity to sign Kai last year and offered a €90m deal only to be rejected by Bayer. Now, as the stakes are getting so high, the German giants would want to close the deal soon. Chelsea looks keen to add more quality.
Amidst all this, Kai Havertz who will complete his 100th Bundesliga just after two more games participated in an exclusive interview where he said, “We are looking good in the table, even though we lost a few games that we should not have lost. We are still not too far away from the top spots, so you can not say that we had a bad start. We are doing well and you can see this year that a lot of good teams are involved at the top”, indicating his focus on Bundesliga at the moment.
