Trouble For The Rajasthan Royals

It was a routine test ahead of the campaign where Dishant Yagnik tested positive for COVID-19. The team management of Rajasthan Royals has announced that no player has come in close contact of the fielding coach. They have also advised the persons who have come into close contact of Dishant Yagnik for the last 10 days should isolate them as soon as possible and they need to get tested for COVID-19.

Dishant Yagnik is now at his hometown Udaipur and he is advised to get hospitalized for the treatment. He needs to be quarantined for 14 days. After 14 days he will again be tested and if his two test reports come negative, he can join the team in the United Arab Emirates. However, he needs to self isolate him for a further 6 days and three test reports should be negative.

After this incident, all other franchises will be eyeing to be more careful. These incidents might happen in between the tournament. So, the franchisees need to be more cautious and they have to follow all the protocols.

What Next For The BCCI?

BCCI is trying to ensure proper safety measures for the players and that’s why they are very much strict with the rules. BCCI will need to finalize the title sponsor soon. Rajasthan Royals are facing another problem ahead of this season. According to the new rule, only 24 players can be there in the squad of a franchise in this season. Rajasthan Royals have 25 players in their squad and they will have to exclude one player ahead of travelling to the United Arab Emirates. Kings XI Punjab and Sunrisers Hyderabad are also facing the same problem along with Rajasthan Royals.

Indian Premier League is going to take place finally this year and all the cricket fans are happy with it. However, pulling off such a lengthy tournament will be a huge task for BCCI. The cricketers will also be eager to get back to the cricket field after a long break. BCCI has conducted a training camp for the cricketers who are under their contract. The fitness might be an issue for the players as they were not in touch for the last few months. So, it will be very much interesting to see how the players cope up with the new normal situation.
