ICC Umpire Anil Chaudhary Sets Up A Network Tower In His Village

The International Cricket Council’s (ICC) umpire, Anil Chaudhary has already shown his skills on the cricket field. However, he has now come out to support and help the people at his village Muzaffarnagar District of Uttar Pradesh. He solved the problem of communication in his village amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Anil Chaudhary’s village name is Dangrol. It did not have any mobile network prior to this. Thus this was such a significant step. So, he decided to take matters into his own hands. He travelled half a kilometre by walking through the paddy fields. Then he climbed a tree and then got the network. What a guy!!

Anil Chaudhary is very happy with the work. Salute to the man and his work. He has made the country proud.

Then, a telecom company contacted him and established a mobile tower in his village. After this work, Chaudhary was very delighted and was sure that the people in his village will not face any further problems.

Anil Chaudhary was quoted as saying in The Indian Express-

“I never imagined this initiative would be so beneficial for our village. There is a professor from Jalandhar who is now able to take classes. Students are happy because now they do not have to sit in the fields, fight mosquitoes, and attend online classes.”

Chaudhary was ready to feature as an umpire in India’s home ODI series against South Africa back in March. However, BCCI had to cancel the series due to the COVID-19 pandemic, after the first ODI at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala was cancelled. On March 15, he was planning to leave for his village and stay there for a week. However, due to the lockdown, he had to stay there.

After Chaudhary’s efforts, Ramkumar, who runs a small bank transaction unit, praised the ICC’s umpire for his efforts. Ramkumar used to have a lot of struggle, struggling for money, but now is very happy after the establishment of the new tower.

What Ramkumar further went on to add?

“Earlier, it used to take three-four days to transfer money, now it takes just a few hours. I would like to thank umpire Chaudhary for his initiative. He is a hero to us. Amidst the pandemic, this is a small issue but it has helped us a long way.

“Our panchayat member Manish Chauhan and local MLA Tejinder Narwal spoke to Jio network who got the job done and we all thank them for making life a lot easier for all of us here.”

Well, great work by one of our beloved umpires. Often, the players and coaches get a lot of love and respect. Umpires get the stick and are not appreciated too often. However, that is not the case this time.

Anil Chaudhary has made the nation proud of him. Hopefully, he can continue doing some of this good work in the days to come. It will be interesting to see how things develop now. Only time will tell. Let’s wait and watch.
