He took the unbelievable catch of Aussie batsman Tom Cooper while playing for Hobart Hurricanes. When Brisbane Heat batsman Cooper was batting on seven while chasing the target of 149 runs set by Hurricanes, he hammered the ball straight back to the bowler. Short tried to catch the ball and ball stick to his hand surprisingly led to completing the stunning catch.

While chasing the target of 149 runs, Brisbane Heat had a great start by openers Max Bryant and Sam Heazlett.Aussie batsmen Bryant and Heazlett put-up partnership of 73 runs in just six overs. Bryant smashed 31 runs off 19 balls comprising of three fours and one six. Heazlett smacked 48 runs off 27 balls with the help of five gigantic sixes and one boundary before dismissed by Short.

Also, English batsman, Daniel Lawrence dismissed on duck by Short. When Cooper and Wildermuth wanted to rebuild the innings, Short took astonishing catch do dismiss Cooper. However, in the last overs, Aussie allrounder James Bazley and Aussie wicket-keeper Jimmy Peirson stitched an unbeaten partnership of 50 runs to help the team to win the match. Bazley smashed blistering knock of 31 runs off 19 balls comprising with two fours and three elephantine sixes.

Short scored 27 runs off 20 balls with the help of four boundaries. English batsman Dawid Malan and skipper Peter Handscomb dismissed early by English all-rounder Lewis Gregory. A late surge by Tim David and Aussie all-rounder James Faulkner took them to 148 runs in 20 overs.
