Team India Provokes Queensland Government Officials; Receive Angry Reply

Another Team India Controversy? Looks like Rohit Sharma is the centre of all the cricket controversies currently. After yesterday’s restaurant controversy involving Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, Shubhman Gill and Navdeep Saini, the Hitman and co. has been involved in yet another controversial argument. Although it is much related to restaurant incident, this time the statement comes from a much more legitimate source- Queensland Government itself.

What Was The Message That Team India Had Sent Out Early On?

A source from the Indian camp had suggested that Team India was not keen on another quarantine. The message coming in was, “We do not want another quarantine!!”

They had already gone through a long season and one quarantine post the IPL. However, they were not really interested in having another one for the last Test match and post that.

Government’s Statement On The Controversy; What Ros Bates Said?

On Sunday, rumours started spreading that the Indian team was reluctant on travelling to Brisbane, where the fourth Test is supposed to be held if their players are forced to undergo quarantine/isolation. It needs to be mentioned that Rohit Sharma came out from quarantine just two days ago.

The Indian team have already served their 14 days quarantine regime. They reportedly do not want to repeat the process once again. In their defence, they have stated that isolation creates immense mental stress on the players. Therefore, they want the fourth test to be held in Sydney as well.

The state’s Health Shadow Minister Ros Bates said. The members of the Queensland government made it clear that not abiding by the rules is not an option. Ros Bates’ views were also shared by Tim Mander. Queensland’s Shadow Sports Minister said that every single personnel, irrespective of their position will have to go through the process of isolation. “If the Indian cricket team wants to spit the dummy and disregard quarantine guidelines in Brisbane for the fourth Test, then they should not come. The same rules must apply to everyone. Simple.”

Rohit Sharma Controversy

It is also being rumoured that both the teams have already been directed to maintain isolation on their arrival at Brisbane. However, Australian Wicketkeeper denied this rumour and added that the Australian team would prefer Gabba as the venue for the 4th match.

What’s Next For Rohit Sharma And Team India?

According to ANI, the Indian team has shut the outside world. They are not looking at what others are saying. They said that they are backing our belief that no protocol was broken. The team is looking to a third Test to make 2-1 by the time we leave Sydney.

It had already been announced that Rohit, Shubmnan Gill, Saini, Pant, Shaw will travel to Sydney with the team. They will be going through a chartered flight on Monday for the Third Test against Australia.

Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, 3 others in isolation; BCCI probes possible protocol breach

On the other hand, a particular group of fans pointed out the incident when Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya went to a mall to buy baby products. No action had been taken at that time. According to the Sydney Morning Herald– The visit to the store was a bio bubble breach by Kohli and Hardik Pandya. As they were not wearing mask inside but it was the minor end of scale breach of Cricket Australia.

The Last Two Matches Of The Series For Team India Are Crucial

It remains to be seen what Team India’s reluctance to travel to Brisbane would lead to. The third Test between the two teams is scheduled to be held on the 7th of January. A few Indian players could be dropped if proven guilty. Protocols are of serious concern at present. Across the globe, things are really serious.

It will be at the Sydney Cricket Ground, with both teams looking to win it. Post that, the fourth Test is scheduled for the 15th of January in Brisbane. Now, Team India really needs to behave and follow the rules. They have already been part of a lot of controversy in recent days. Not what they would have wanted and some of the players could actually be in trouble.

Let’s wait and watch what happens now. Whichever team wins the next match, takes the lead in this four Test-match series. They will have the advantage going into the final Test. If it’s a draw, then both teams can win the last one and take the Border-Gavaskar title home.
