The Latest Update On Team India- While the English cricketers have already arrived and are quarantining in five-star hotels in Chennai days ahead of a four-match Test series against India, the Northamptonshire County Cricket Club has – without hinting at any dates – announced a welcome for the Indian team that is scheduled to play in England post the WTC.

Confirming the venue – County Ground in Northamptonshire, the cricket club said in a statement, “Some of the world’s finest international cricketers will be on show at The County Ground this summer as we welcome India and India A.”

2021 is going to be the year filled with cricket. India has a busy schedule this year. In February and March, Virat Kohli-led side will host England in all three formats. There will be IPL in April and May and later this year India will tour England for a 5-match test series. Now the news is Virat and Rahane (captain of India A) may lock horns for a 4-day India vs India A practice match. The match will be good preparation for the overseas Test series.

The dates of the tour have not been disclosed yet. However, it will surely be starting soon, as per the stories coming in. The fans are excited about more cricket after some intense battles. Let’s see what this New Year brings for cricket fans, with a couple of major tournaments lined up for the season already.

The Players Who Will Really Be Expected To Perform Well In This Upcoming Series

Virat Kohli and company will tour England in August, the first test of the series expected to begin on August 4 in Nottingham. The subsequent Test matches will be played at London, Leeds and Manchester. India will tour England for a Test series after they lose 4-1 to Joe Root and company in 2018. In fact, Nottingham was the only venue the visitors could manage a win.

However, February 5 will see the two giants take on the Chidambaram stadium pitch as international cricket returns to India. Both the teams are in the hunt for securing a place in the finals of the year-long tournament, that will take place at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground in June. The four-match Test series will be the last bit from the two teams and it is Australia and New Zealand’s chances at stake too.

India holds the first position of the World Test Championship table. That is after Ajinkya Rahane’s men triumphed in a historic Test series in Australia. The players have a newfound confidence and England – bolstered by the participation of Ben Stokes, Jofra Archer and Stuart Broad – will need to put out an A-game to get a win.

What Team India Needs To Do To Be On Top Of The WTC Rankings; Ahead Of The Current Tour Of England

India needs to win the series by 4-0, 3-0, 3-1 or 2-0. That is to qualify for the mega match at Lords. England needs a winning margin of 3-0 or 4-0 to make it. The Three Lions are on the fourth rung of the WTC table.

The first Test will start at Chennai, that is also the venue of the second match of the series. Post that the teams will move to the renewed Motera Stadium in Ahmedabad. The third Test is going to be a day-night clash at Motera.

India has carried on the young stars of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The list includes – namely Shubman Gill, Rishabh Pant, Washington Sundar and Shardul Thakur. They will be involved in the series against England.
