Kolkata Knight Riders left-arm chinaman spinner Kuldeep Yadav is yet to feature for his franchise in this edition of the VIVO Indian Premier League. KKR has not had the best of starts again in the season as they have managed to win one game out of three so far. Eoin Morgan’s side has played all their three matches so far at Chennai. Despite putting up a good show in the opening fixture against Sunrisers Hyderabad where they managed to win the game only by 10 runs, they have shockingly lost the second one by 10 runs to last year’s champions Mumbai Indians.
They collapsed big time in the last few overs where they needed to get 31 runs from 30 balls. That was with six wickets in hand. In their last game against Royal Challengers Bangalore, KKR was literally outplayed by the brilliance of Glenn Maxwell and AB Devilliers.
The team from Kolkata has not been good so far. They have had their ups and downs and need consistency. That is clear to the team management, who are trying to get these issues resolved. The squad does have some top players who are yet to fire at their best.
Knights have plenty of spin bowling options in their ranks. That is their bowling strength as per as this season is a concern. They have played three spinners in each game so far. New recruits Harbhajan Singh and Sakib Al Hasan have featured alongside mystery spinner Varun Chakraborthy. Sunil Narine, Kuldeep Yadav and Pawan Negi are yet to feature in the first eleven for KKR this term. The 26-year-old Kuldeep who recently got demoted in the BCCI contract says he is hopeful about getting a chance in future games.

“Only three matches have happened so far. I am hoping to get a place in the final XI soon, and I will perform well.”
When asked about the two most difficult batsman he has bowled in his career so far, Kuldeep says it is Rohit Sharma and South African legend AB de Villiers.
“I find it difficult to bowl against AB de Villiers and Rohit Sharma. De Villiers can smash the ball in any corner of the ground, while Rohit has plenty of time.”
What Brendon McCullum Said In A Recent Interview About Sunil Narine?
KKR head coach Brendon Mccullum clarifies that Sunil Narine was not 100% fit to feature in the starting XI. Despite that, he will be considered when they play on different conditions in future games. Mccullum says fresh legs will be needed as the results have not gone their way as they wanted.
“Sunil Narine stood on the rope before our first game. It means he has had an injury where he was not 100 per cent fit. He certainly comes into our calculations. He was touch and go for this game against RCB. We opted for Shakib who has been good for us. Gives us an extra bit of batting. After three games, the guys have played well, we have not got the results, we probably would need some fresh legs for slightly different wickets in Mumbai.”
“In the past, we have not been made to plan much as Maxwell has not been in top form but it appears, he has come this year with a really refreshed attitude. He is taking the game on, we have seen him being successful in the Big Bash and Australia. He took the game away from us in a crunch situation but if we had our time again, we would have tried few different things,” said Brendon McCullum
