Barcelona is allegedly interested in signing Torino and Italy striker Andrea Belotti during the next January transfer window, according to reports.
According to a report from Catalan newspaper SPORT, Barcelona is considering Torino’s 27-year-old striker Andrea Belotti as a possible transfer target in order to bolster their attacking options during the winter transfer window.
Belotti has been a member of the Torino squad since the summer of 2015, since he joined them from the Italian club, Palermo. Over the course of his career with the Granata, the Italian forward has established himself as one of the most consistent goal scorers in the Italian top division, having scored 106 goals and provided 26 assists in 231 games. He is a regular for the Italian national team, and he has scored 12 goals in 39 appearances for them.
What Is The Latest Update On The Situation Of The Player At Present?
Belotti’s long-term future at Torino, on the other hand, has been the focus of heated transfer rumours for quite some time. The 27-year-old was in the last year of his contract with the Serie A club and has been linked with a number of teams in Italy and Europe throughout the summer transfer window. However, no such action came to fruition.
Belotti, who has remained at the club throughout the season, has made two league appearances, scoring one goal in each, before suffering an injury. The Italian is now out of action as a result of a disagreement with Torino over his contract, and Barcelona is aiming to take advantage of the situation by signing him in January.
The Catalans are on the lookout for fresh offensive additions after the departures of Lionel Messi and Antoine Griezmann during the summer transfer window. Despite the arrivals of Luuk de Jong, Memphis Depay, and Sergio Aguero at Camp Nou, there does not seem to be another strong option in the No. 9 position apart from Depay.
Since his arrival, Aguero has been sidelined with an injury and has yet to kick a ball in the league. As a result of his inability to stay healthy during his time at Manchester City last season, the midfielder is not looking like a dependable option.
De Jong, on the other hand, hasn’t shown the kind of talent that would be expected of a Barcelona player. In addition to being injured and unreliable, Martin Braithwaite’s absence bodes well for the signing of another centre-forward by FC Barcelona.
Will Barcelona Actually Go For Belotti?
In light of their financial situation, they are reported to be especially interested in signing a striker whose contract expires next year, since such a player would be available on a budget in January.
Barcelona is interested in signing Divock Origi of Liverpool, as well as Edinson Cavani of Manchester United and Lorenzo Insigne of Napoli, among other players. Belotti has also surfaced as a potential target for the Blaugrana, as has been the case with the other two.
The 27-year-old, who is also a transfer target for Arsenal, has the potential to be a valuable addition to the Barcelona squad. It remains to be seen if they will make a bid for the Torino striker or whether they will seek elsewhere for reinforcements in their attacking ranks.
