Barcelona And AC Milan Lock Horns For Manchester United Outcast

Donny van de Beek, a former Manchester United player, is said to be the subject of fierce rivalry between AC Milan and Barcelona.

According to a report by the Italian publication Milan Live, Donny van de Beek continues to draw high-profile suitors despite his deteriorating situation at Manchester United. Milan and Barcelona are both interested in signing the Manchester United misfit, who has been courted by both clubs.

The 24-year-old has played only 144 minutes of football this season under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Donny van de Beek joined Manchester United from Ajax during the summer transfer window of this season. He was the most talked-about player during the aforementioned transfer window, the Dutchman generated a great deal of enthusiasm when he arrived at the club last year, but that excitement has waned over the course of the last year.

After a tough first season at Manchester United, the 24-year-old has played only 144 minutes of football this season under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. An early transfer in January would be very beneficial to van de Beek’s professional prospects, which are now in a state of disarray. There is no lack of suitors chasing for the Manchester United misfit, with Barcelona and AC Milan among the teams after him.

Van de Beek seems to be a plausible target for the Barcelona

Barcelona is said to be interested in signing van de Beek on a short-term loan deal, with the player’s decision to switch agents seen to have been a boon for the Blaugrana. The interest shown in the Dutch international is understandable, given the fact that Sergio Busquets is nearing the end of his playing career.

The first-team system has numerous outstanding teenagers in addition to Frenkie de Jong, but their playing time must be monitored closely in order to minimise the possibility of burnout for them. With that in mind, Van de Beek seems to be a plausible target for Barcelona. AC Milan, on the other hand, will be without Ismael Bennacer and Franck Kessie for a month in January as a result of the Africa Cup of Nations.

He could be a good addition to the Catalan giants, who are at present in a rebuilding phase. They don’t have a lot of money to spend either. Keeping that in mind, he can be signed for sure.

There’s no assurance where van de Beek will end up this winter

In addition, with Kessie’s future at San Siro in doubt, van de Beek might be the best long-term option for all parties. It is thus apparent why AC Milan is interested in signing van de Beek. The Serie A heavyweights are attempting to create a deal similar to the one that brought Diogo Dalot to the club on loan from Manchester United last year, according to reports.

But Barcelona and AC Milan will have to contend with Juventus, who are looking to add a midfielder for the second time in a row during the current transfer window. There’s no telling where van de Beek will end up this winter, with numerous speculations indicating that the midfielder will be leaving Manchester United before the end of January.
