Venkatesh Iyer, the outstanding all-rounder for the Kolkata Knight Riders who showed his dominance throughout the IPL’s UAE leg, made his international debut for India in the first Twenty20 International against New Zealand on Wednesday, November 17. With the start of this series, Rohit Sharma, who has taken on the duty of being India’s full-time T20I captain, handed up the first cap to Iyer.
Official footage of the incident was shared on Twitter by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The board also produced an appropriate description for the video to express their congratulations to the all-rounder on his outstanding performance. His performance in the second leg of the Indian Premier League was recognised, and the all-rounder received a cash incentive. Furthermore, he is the pace-bowling all-rounder that India is looking for with just 11 months to go till the next T20 World Cup in Australia.

Venkatesh Iyer produced an outstanding performance in the second leg of the Indian Premier League.
In the first half of the IPL 2021, Kolkata Knight Riders had a mediocre performance. The squad, on the other hand, worked hard to ensure that their fortunes changed in the UAE leg of the competition. The Eoin Morgan-led side advanced to the finals of the premier tournament, with Venkatesh Iyer playing a more significant part than in the first half.
With his aggressive style of play and explosive strokeplay, the all-rounder contributed to the success of KKR’s top-order batting. Even though he was opening the batting for KKR, he supplied them with solid starts that allowed them to gain control of the game.
A total of 370 runs were amassed from 10 games, with an average of 41.11 and a strike rate of 128.47, with as many as four half-centuries, among his numerous knocks. His exploits in the Indian Premier League won him a spot in India’s T20I squad to face New Zealand.

Want to take advantage of the opportunity that has been presented to me.
“I am prepared to bat in any position and to bowl anytime am called upon to do so. The opportunity to play in front of the (Indian) audience. It is actually a dream come true and it is lovely to have them back,” Iyer told the broadcasters before the opening match of the three-game series that Team India won.
