Arsenal managed to secure a narrow win over Watford in their away fixture at Vicarage Road. Though the Gunners were expected to win this game, it wasn’t exactly an easy win. The fans would have liked what they saw going forward. However, the defence was far from assuring and there were some mistakes that nearly cost the visitors.
What could have been a dominating performance, ended up being a sloppy win for Mikel Arteta’s side. The Spanish manager was not pleased with the performance as well. It was quite evident with how he was trying to change things around and his post-match comments.
Goals from Odegaard, Saka and Martinelli, were replied to by goals from Cucho Hernandez and Moussa Sissoko. However, it was still too much for the home side and they could not get the result in their favour. Arsenal held on to their lead and took all three points from the match.
Here are the major talking points from the game that Arsenal highlights their weak points in, but eventually ended up winning 2-3-
Arsenal Highlights A Young Attack That Is Pure Class
Three out of the brilliant four youngsters that Arsenal has scored in this game. The three goals came from Odegaard, Saka and Martinelli, with Smith Rowe missing the game due to lack of fitness. The attacker had just recovered from Covid and was not ready to get back into the team.
With that being said, the other three got on the score sheet and this would have made the fans and manager Mikel Arteta really happy. The young guns are now performing at the best of their ability and the team is winning games.
Skipper Lacazette Links Up Brilliant With The Young Kids Pushing Forward
The Arsenal skipper has not been scoring too many goals in recent times. However, his off the ball play and the linking up with the young talents has been really good and the fans love it. He has taken the armband from former skipper Aubameyang and is looking good for the Gunners, with a lot of assists in the recent games.
Though Lacazette is leaving The Emirates at the end of the current campaign, he has been a thorough professional thus far. Mikel Arteta appreciates this and so do his teammates.
Watford Score Two Brilliant Goals Though It Isn’t Enough, As Arsenal Highlights Good Composure
Despite the attack that the Gunners were constantly posing at the Watford goal, the home side did pull back a couple of goals. The first one was a beauty by Cucho Hernandez, who stunned the crowd with a sideways bicycle kick to beat Ramsdale and the Arsenal defence. The fans were stunned at the brilliance of the finish.
The second goal came from the Watford skipper, Moussa Sissoko. The former Tottenham man added a cooly taken finish to his name, as he tried to get something out of the match for his team. However, it was not enough and the visitors held on despite his brilliant finish.
Ramsdale And Co. Have A Horrific Day At The Back For Arsenal
Twitter was abuzz with Ramsdale going back to his Championship days. The player recently visited Bournemouth and it brought back some of his goalkeeping memories, to say the least. He gave away the ball to the opposition players quite a few times and the away fans could not believe what they were seeing. Fortunately, it did not lead to much but this was one of his worst performances in an Arsenal jersey.
