Barcelona News: President Joan Laporta Speaks On Barcelona’s Upcoming Transfer Plan

Barcelona News

Barcelona News: President of Barcelona, Joan Laporta, has revealed an insight into the club’s transfer intentions for the next summer window

Barcelona News: FC Barcelona has made significant strides under Xavi Hernandez. They will want to capitalise on that success by adding to their roster. They were wallowing in the ninth position until Xavi was brought in to replace Ronald Koeman in the middle of the season. In January, the club recruited Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Arsenal, Ferran Torres from Manchester City, and Adama Traore from Wolves on loan. Thus, bringing their total number of January signings to four.

A dramatic change of events resulted in the Blaugrana moving up to the third position in La Liga and going to the quarter-finals of the UEFA Europa League in the process. Xavi is determined to establish a dynasty at the club. Laporta intends to make at least four additions this summer to maintain their upward trajectory.

The Probable Transfers:

“At the very least, we will finish four signings. To this end, the offence, midfield, and defence will be strengthened,” Laporta spoke with El Periodico.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Blaugrana have struck a deal with AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie. He will join the club as a free agent in the summer of 2022.

Andreas Christensen’s contract with the Chelsea football club is slated to expire after the current season. According to Sport Witness, the Dane will sign a free transfer agreement with Barcelona. Nasser Mazraoui of Ajax is also likely to join the squad this summer.

Barcelona News

Barcelona has allegedly joined Real Madrid in the fight to sign Paris Saint-Germain sensation Kylian Mbappe. He will become a free agent in June. Because of the uncertainty surrounding the future of Ousmane Dembele, the Blaugrana may also want to add a winger to their ranks.

Recently, the 24-year-old has been in superb form, having scored one goal and provided seven assists in his previous five outings. The Frenchman, on the other hand, has fewer than four months remaining on his contract. It seems that renewal is doubtful.

The Blaugrana are also keeping an eye on Paulo Dybala. He will be out of contract with Juventus at the end of the season.

Barcelona must trim the fat off its roster this summer

Barcelona will be looking to make a few marquee acquisitions this summer to improve their prospects of winning La Liga and the UEFA Champions League in the next season.

The club may decide to part ways with periphery players to create a place for newcomers. Philippe Coutinho is currently on loan at Aston Villa. There, he has made 10 appearances and scored four goals, and contributed three assists. In the summer of 2022, the Premier League teams have the option to purchase the midfielder for £33 million. They may execute it.

Barcelona News: Who are the players to leave?

Barcelona News

Luuk de Jong will return to Sevilla in the summer after the conclusion of his loan stay with the club. Until the conclusion of the season, Sergi Roberto’s contract with the Blaugrana will be up. According to Diario Sport, he has received an offer from the Spanish club Atletico Madrid.

Following Ronald Araujo’s promotion to the first team and the acquisition of Eric Garica, Clement Lenglet and Samuel Umtiti have slid down the pecking order at the Camp Nou. The pair will leave for a new club soon.

It is also stated that Memphis Depay, who has 10 goals in 29 appearances this season, is rethinking his future with the club. Because of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s transfer from Arsenal, the Dutchman has had to settle for a cameo in the team.
