Latest Liverpool News: Clinton Morrison’s Reply To Thiago’s Critics

Latest Liverpool News: Clinton Morrison, a former Premier League striker, has responded to those who have criticized Thiago Alcantara’s performance for Liverpool

Latest Liverpool News: His performance against Manchester United in midweek, in which he scored a stunning goal, has prompted the 42-year-old to heap praise on the Spanish international. Thiago was in complete command of the midfield for the Reds against their bitter rivals as they triumphed 4-0 at Anfield on Sunday.

Thiago, according to Morrison, has silenced his detractors this season with his fantastic performances in the Liverpool midfield. In an interview with Soccer Saturday on Sky Sports, as reported by HITC Sport, the 42-year-old said:

“It made me giggle since he was injured at that time. ‘Can he play?’ a few others questioned. ‘Can he really play?’ He’s a tremendous player, no doubt about it. He is constantly looking to pass forward. Going sides and backward is not an option for him. He is a self-assured player while in control of the ball. He has a wide range of abilities. Thiago seemed to be having a good time with his slippers the other night. It was that fantastic.”

Thiago was praised by Morrison for his “complete and seamless performance.” Thiago seems to have finally found his way into Jurgen Klopp’s starting lineup.

Morrison went on to say:

“He was the man in the middle of the field. I was under the impression that that was the whole show. Even while tackling, he is successful in his tackles. And it seems that he is in good shape and ready to play. He has gotten up to the speed that Liverpool wants to play at. Thiago makes the game seem to be simple.”

Thiago finally gets the chance to show off his abilities at Liverpool

Unlike the Reds’ recruiting strategy in prior years, the purchase of Thiago from Bayern Munich in 2020 was a notable exception to the rule. Since the Fenway Sports Group acquired ownership of the club in 2010, the Merseyside giants have only recruited a handful of players beyond the age of 25.

The Spanish international is one of the most brilliant players in the world, both in terms of skill and technical ability. During his remarkable career, the 31-year-old has, on the other hand, had a history of bad luck with injuries.

In his first season at Anfield, the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich star failed to make an impact. His inability to play due to repeated injury issues prevented him from enjoying a decent run of games. Last season, he made a total of 30 appearances for the Reds across all competitions.

The Spaniard, on the other hand, has been on fire this season, particularly in the latter couple of months of the campaign. Because of Jurgen Klopp’s exceptional man-management, his extremely skilled midfielder can perform to his full potential. So far this season, he has made 30 appearances across all competitions. Thus, scoring twice and assisting on three other goals.

If the 31-year-old can avoid injury for the foreseeable future, Liverpool has a good opportunity to add a lot more trophies to their collection in the years to come.

This season, the Reds are still in contention for a historic quadruple. Thiago’s contribution has been significant in that regard.
