RCB vs RR Live Update: According to former Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Daniel Vettori, the team management should refrain from offering advice to Virat Kohli on his bad performance in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022.
The former left-arm spinner feels that Kohli needs to figure it out on his own. He believes the 33-year-old will use his expertise and resolve to do it.
After being knocked for a golden duck in the previous two matches, Virat Kohli was dismissed for the second time in a row on Saturday against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Mumbai. His push at a delivery that was slanted across him by Marco Jansen resulted in the ball being nicked to the second slip.
RCB vs RR Live Update: Kohli needs a strong comeback
When asked whether Kohli required any assistance to help him, Vettori responded in the negative. During an ESPNcricinfo conversation, the former New Zealand skipper expressed his thoughts as follows:
“It will be entirely up to the individual. It will be up to Kohli and his knowledge of the game, as well as his awareness of himself, to figure out how to get himself out of this situation. If you attempt to assist him, you will only obstruct his progress. You will almost certainly say something incorrectly that will alienate him. It’s simpler to just say, Virat, we have great confidence in you. We look forward to seeing you after the tournament, winning games for us.”
Not only did Virat Kohli struggle, but the whole Bangalore batting lineup did as well against SRH on Saturday. 68 runs were scored in 16.1 overs. Vettori, on the other hand, does not believe that the RCB’s lackluster performance will have an impact on their confidence moving forward in the competition. He went on to explain:
“I don’t believe it impacted their minds. These games seem to occur for every team at least once throughout a tournament. Players have a short memory. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has been playing some excellent cricket recently. They will go on to the next game rather than debriefing the previous one.”
The Royal Challengers Bangalore were thrashed by nine wickets at the Brabourne Stadium, as Hyderabad chased down the target of 69 in only eight overs to win the match.
“It was a flawless performance,” says Daniel Vettori of SRH’s dominance against RCB
When asked about SRH’s outstanding bowling performance, Vettori said that it was the ideal performance that could not have been arranged any more effectively. He went on to say:
“SRH delivered a flawless performance. This is what it looks like when you write up performances as a member of the coaching staff or as a captain. Marco Jansen kicked things off, and then everyone else chipped in with their own unique contributions. A number of players, including Nicholas Pooran, took several outstanding catches. When you are pursuing a tiny total, you have two options. Abhishek Sharma came out and just snatched the game away from the opposition.”
SRH enhanced their net run rate with an impressive victory against Bangalore, who were bowled out for 68 by Hyderabad. Abhishek Sharma hammered 47 in 28 balls as SRH increased their net run rate.
