Latest Chelsea News: “I Have No Doubt Regarding This”- Reputed Journalist Confirms That Chelsea Will Look To Offer New Contract To Kante

Latest Chelsea News: Pete O’Rourke, a journalist, is quoted as saying that Chelsea would attempt to extend N’Golo Kante’s contract in the summer to prevent the club from losing him for free in 2023.

Since joining Chelsea for a fee of 35.8 million euros from Leicester City in 2016, the French midfielder has established himself as one of the club’s most valuable players. Kante provides Chelsea with strength, speed, and intellect in the middle of the field. This has enabled them to defeat some of the most successful teams in the world.

Since joining the club in west London, Kante has been an integral part of the team’s success. Thus, contributing to victories in many competitions, including the Premier League, the Champions League, and the FA Cup.

O’Rourke claims that the Blues place a high value on the midfield star. They want to explore the possibility of extending his contract once the takeover has been completed. When asked about it, the well-known sports writer replied the following to GiveMeSport:

“He still has one year remaining on his contract. So, the club would prefer that he not play out the last year of his deal to avoid the possibility of his leaving on a free transfer. Now that the takeover has been finalized, I do not doubt that they will sit down with players such as N’Golo Kante to talk about their future and determine whether or not they can sign him to a new deal. I do not doubt this.”

The recent purchase of the Londoners, who were once owned by Roman Abramovich, was accomplished via the efforts of a group that was managed by Todd Boehly. Given that it would be the first transfer window under the new ownership, it’s possible that they wouldn’t make too many changes. They will instead focus on getting the appropriate contract extensions in place.

It’s possible that Kante’s contract, which is now scheduled to run out in 2023, maybe one of the first to be completed.

Concerns about N’Golo Kante’s fitness are a source of anxiety for Chelsea

N’Golo Kante can outrun the vast majority of the world’s other midfielders on his best days. The former top player for Leicester City was unable to take advantage of too many opportunities like this during the 2021–22 campaign. His season was derailed by injuries. He was forced to sit out a total of 16 matches owing to a variety of ailments and injuries (groin injury, knee injury, unknown injury, and COVID-19).

Given that he has not yet reached the age of 32, Chelsea is in a position to take a risk on the renewal of his contract. However, considering his recent history of injuries, it may be prudent for them to offer him a term that is shorter given the circumstances. A contract extension for two years, with the possibility of another year’s extension, could be the way to go about things. Only time will tell what Chelsea decides to do.
