Gary Neville Wants Liverpool To Buy This Star Player As A Squad Rotation Player

Latest Liverpool News

Latest Liverpool News: Gary Neville has suggested to the best clubs in the Premier League that they should think about acquiring Christian Eriksen. The legendary player for Manchester United thinks that either Manchester City or Liverpool would be the best match for the player.

Eriksen was able to make his way back onto the field of play earlier this year when he signed a temporary contract with Brentford. He appeared in 11 Premier League games for the London club. During that, he scored once and provided assists on four occasions.

During his appearance on The Overlap Fan Debate, Gary Neville expressed his belief that the former Tottenham star would be a fantastic addition to Liverpool and Manchester City. Both of them need a squad player who can come in and contribute immediately. Neville made this statement. He said:

“I guess that a major team will come calling for Eriksen. Because of all that Brentford has done for him, he may exhibit devotion to the club. I’ll tell you what, if you were any top-six club and you were looking at a midfield three and you wanted a guy to go in there and play 30 games for you in a squad-type [situation], you’d [take him]. I’m telling you this because I’ve been in that scenario. He can play for Manchester City, he can play for Liverpool, and he can play for any of the top six teams.”

Neville added:

“I’m not suggesting that he starts every week. But he may get some playing time. Take a look at what [Xherdan] Shaqiri accomplished throughout his two or three years spent playing for Liverpool. Why wouldn’t you consider Christian Eriksen for a role in Liverpool’s midfield if you need a replacement for someone like Thiago, who suffers from injuries from time to time? Why wouldn’t you expect him to step in for two seasons and perform a good job for you while he was doing that? He is quite talented. He is an outstanding professional, he is an outstanding player, and his talent with the ball is extraordinary. To be fair, Brentford played out here [at Old Trafford], and it was one of the games United won. But some of Eriksen’s passing in that game was out of this world at Old Trafford.”

Which club, Manchester City or Liverpool, will Christian Eriksen sign with?

Christian Eriksen has not yet chosen his future. But according to reports, he has several other opportunities available to him.

Both Brentford and Tottenham are interested in re-signing the player that they previously sold to Antonio Conte while he was at Inter. Brentford would want to retain him for at least one more season. Tottenham has also indicated an interest in re-signing the player.

According to Football Insider, Conte has given his approval to the probable deal, which means things might move very rapidly.
