RCB vs CSK IPL 2022: During the Royal Challengers Bangalore’s game against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Wednesday at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune, a Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) fan was seen in the stands proposing to her partner.

When the event occurred, it was the 11th over in Chennai’s batting innings. A lady was seen dropping down on one knee and proposing to her partner after Wanindu Hasaranga’s fifth ball was completed. The camera then pans to the stands where the proposal was seen.

The proposal was accepted by the boy. He was wearing an RCB shirt at the time. They embraced each other afterwards. The scene was excellently filmed by the camera guy as the folks in the audience applauded and clapped in celebration of the moment’s accomplishment.

The previous year, Deepak Chahar, a CSK all-rounder, proposed to his long-term girlfriend Jaya Bharadwaj in the stands after the team’s game versus Punjab Kings. Chahar’s girlfriend was pleasantly surprised by the proposal. But she joyfully accepted it in the presence of the players’ families from Chennai, who was in attendance.

In a game that had to be won, RCB defeated Chennai by 13 runs

After being asked to bat first by MS Dhoni, the Bangalore franchise found themselves in serious trouble after losing their first three batsmen in short succession. The Royal Challengers were in trouble at 79/3 when Rajat Patidar and Mahipal Lomror came to their aid.

They put up a 44-run stand for the fourth wicket. Lomror launched an all-out assault on his opponents. Dinesh Karthik put the finishing touches on the innings. It ended with a total of 173 runs on the board thanks to the young southpaw’s 42 off 27 balls.

With the ball stopping on the wicket, it looked like it would be a difficult run chase. The Chennai openers got off to a fast start. They put up 51 runs for the first wickets. Faf du Plessis and company came back, they did it spectacularly. They scalped wickets at regular intervals until Josh Hazlewood and Harshal Patel ensured that Bangalore went home with two points.

With this victory, Bangalore has moved up to fourth place in the points standings with 12 points from 11 games played. On Sunday, they will travel to Mumbai to take on the Sunrisers Hyderabad in their next match at the Wankhede Stadium.

For a time, it seemed like no one would stick with Dinesh Karthik and let him do his thing. But fortunately for Royal Challengers Bangalore, he was given a strike in the 20th over for a whole over. And he made the most of it. Even though Dwaine Pretorius was not too far away from the blockhole, Karthik had withdrawn so far back into the crease, with his rear leg near to the off-stump, that he nonetheless managed to smash two spectacular sixes over the legside to score 16 important runs in the over.

It was the difference between a solid total on a surface that helped turn the ball and where the ball held up a little better and a below-par total on a pitch that didn’t help turn the ball. Throughout the season, Karthik has shown that he is not simply a slog. But, he is selective in his strokes and the bowlers that he targets. 

In this situation, he had no option but to chase after the ball in the last over. But even then, it wasn’t mindless slogging. It was he who made his movements in the crease. He targeted his favourite spots. He succeeded in pulling Royal Challengers Bangalore to a competitive total.
