RCB vs CSK Live Update: IPL 2022 encounter between the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) is set to take place on Wednesday in Pune. The South African spinner Imran Tahir believes that the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) must resist the temptation to bring back Shivam Dube.
When Chennai took on Bangalore during the first half of the competition, Dube was named Player of the Match after scoring an unbeaten 95 off 46 balls to earn the honour. However, he had a string of bad results with the willow in the franchise’s last encounter. So, he was ejected from the starting XI.
Tahir acknowledged that Dube has produced some excellent performances for CSK. However, he cautioned the franchise not to tinker with the successful mix. During a chat on ESPNCricinfo, he expressed his thoughts as follows:
“I don’t believe CSK should make any adjustments since they have just won a game. They may have to make changes to the international players (to fit in Dwayne Bravo). Even though Dube has produced a couple of excellent knocks, I believe they should remain with the same combination.”

After losing the leadership of Ravindra Jadeja in the previous match, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) beat the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 13 runs in MS Dhoni’s first match after reclaiming captaincy. Batting first, CSK amassed a total of 202 for 2. Ruturaj Gaikwad led the way with 99. Devon Conway remained undefeated on 85. With 182 runs partnership, the openers put on a huge display.
In any case, Conway was inserted into the starting XI because Bravo was unable to play due to fitness concerns. Tahir acknowledged that it would be difficult to leave out the New Zealand batsman after his performance against SRH. But he added that Chennai could have to look at alternative options to accommodate the West Indies all-rounder in the lineup. The 43-year-old made the following statement:
“Devon Conway took advantage of the situation to the fullest extent possible. Assuming Bravo is healthy, CSK must decide whether they will utilize a local batter or bring Bravo back since he has been doing well recently. Conway, in my opinion, deserves to keep his position.”
Conway was the only foreign batsman in Chennai’s line-up for the IPL 2022 match against Hyderabad. Mitchell Santner, Maheesh Theekshana, and Dwaine Pretorius served as the other international players.

However, despite Chennai’s victory in the previous match, the team’s prospects of qualifying for the playoffs remain very remote. To encourage his old franchise to continue playing good cricket, Tahir said:
“This game will be very critical for Chennai. Losing even one game from here would seriously harm their chances of making the playoffs. However, they should be buoyed by the fact that they have just won a game. After losing three games in a row, the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) would be low on confidence. But I believe CSK must maintain their optimistic attitude and play the way they did in the previous game. I believe Chennai has the upper hand against Bangalore in this match.”
After nine matches, Chennai is now in ninth place in the IPL 2022 points standings. They have recorded just three victories in that time.
